CyanogenMod 12.1 Snapshot Build now ready for some Motorola phones

#CyanogenMod #Snapshot – CyanogenMod 12.1 Snapshot Build now ready for some Motorola phones – Hello CyanogenMod fans, if you’re still adamant to get the Android Marshmallow CM13 nightly build, you’re still free to use CM12. The latter has just received the latest 12.1 snapshot build update which is supposed to be more stable now. It’s still based an Android 5.0 Lollipop but rest assured it’s better now than the past software versions.

Don’t get too excited because as expected, only a few models are eligible for the update. For now, Motorola devices are the lucky ones to receive the build especially the Moto Maxx, 2013 Moto X, and the Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. Other mobile devices should have the build ready for them in a few weeks or so.

Now called as CyanogenMod Snapshot build, this is the first ever for CyanogenMod 12.1. The CM community used to call such as ‘milestones’. Since CM13 is expected to be not as stable yet, the CM12.1 is a better choice because ideally, most bugs have been squashed already. This is different from nightlies and it’s said to have the best hardware support yet for mods. Note that compared to nightlies, it takes a while before the snapshot build is ready. It usually takes two months before another one rolls out.

Oppo to release F1 Plus smartphone in April

#Oppo #Smartphone – Oppo to release F1 Plus smartphone in April – At Oppo’s launch of its F1 smartphone in Mumbai today, they also made the surprise announcement that soon, they will be releasing a Plus variant of the F1. It will of course be called the Oppo F1 Plus and it should be a slightly bigger (hence the Plus name) than the current one and may even improve on already impressive specs, specifically when it comes to its selfie features, which is a big selling point of the F1.

The OEM didn’t give much information about the upcoming device yet, except to say that it will be an upgraded version of the Oppo F1. It will also come with a bigger 5.5” display with FullHD resolution, compared to the 5” HD panel of the current version. It will also have 4GB RAM, which is pretty great for a device (The F1 had an already great 3GB). We can also assume that camera-wise, it will be even better than the 8MP front-facing camera of its parent device (or at least have a “more sophisticated experience), if the F1 Plus will also be marketed as a selfie expert device.

We’re assuming that the Oppo F1 Plus will not be that different from the F1, apart from those mentioned above. It will probably be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 SoC and will have dual SIM support and LTE connectivity, plus a 13MP main camera. It is expected to be released this April (at least in India) for around $395, a far cry from the $235 of the F1.

Meanwhile, at the Mobile World Congress next month, Oppo will be unveiling “breakthrough tech” in terms of mobile power solutions and a smartphone camera innovation. No word if they will also be offering a sneak peek into the F1 Plus. Source: androidcommunity

HTC One M10 Tipped to Sport Snapdragon 820 SoC and Fingerprint Scanner

#HCTOneM10 #Smartphone – HTC One M10 Tipped to Sport Snapdragon 820 SoC and Fingerprint Scanne : HTC has grand plans for its upcoming smartphone, it appears. The Taiwanese company has been long-rumoured to be planning to launch a flagship smartphone codenamed Perfume (widely believed to be the HTC One M10) featuring top of the line specifications including a fingerprint sensor.

For the upcoming flagship HTC One M10, HTC plans to bring back its UltraPixel camera, remove the company’s signature BoomSound speakers, and perhaps also introduce substantial design changes, reports prolific tipster Evan Blass for Venture Beat.

Blass cites a person who has allegedly tested a prototype of the smartphone, and claims the the HTC One M10 will sport a 5.1-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display – likely an Amoled panel (instead of SuperLCD 3 panel), and Qualcomm’s recently launched Snapdragon 820 SoC coupled with Adreno 530 GPU.

Other features of the HTC One M10, as per the report, include 4GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage, and the presence of a microSD slot. The HTC One M10 ‘Perfume’ is said to run Android 6.0.1Marshmallow with HTC Sense 8.0 UI. The smartphone will reportedly also feature a Samsung Galaxy-like home button that will come equipped with a fingerprint sensor.

As for some bold changes, the HTC One M10 is said to have a 12-UltraPixel front-facing camera. To recall, the company had used a standard camera sensor in lieu of UltraPixel sensor in its last year’s One M9 flagship. There’s no word on how powerful the rear-camera is, however, the report insists that both the camera sensors offer optical image stabilisation capabilities.

The HTC One M10, as per the report, won’t have the company’s signature BoomSound audio front-facing speakers. Blass further claims that HTC One M10 won’t be launched at Mobile World Congress in February. Source: ndtv

iPhone 7 Has Noise-Cancelling Headphones? Apple Audio Supplier Hints at Speculation

#iPhone7 #CirrusLogic – iPhone 7 Has Noise-Cancelling Headphones? Apple Audio Supplier Hints at Speculation : There is a lot of noise out there; speculations surrounding  the iPhone 7 probability of ditching the 3.5mm headphone jack in the bid to achieve a sleeker frame. Predictions about the replacements range an all-in-one-lightening connector to wireless Apple earbuds.

While the rumours are running wild, Apple audio supplier Cirrus Logic may have given fans something more to think about in that regard. As reported by 9to5 Mac, Cirrus Logic CEO Jason Rhode while staying quiet on its association with Apple, may have dropped a few hints on how the Cupertino tech giant is planning to tackle the change.

Commenting on Cirrus wanting to push the noise-cancelling headphone technology, Rhode shared, “There are definitely people considering putting [it] in box … any time somebody talks about adding content inside a box, inside the box it ships with the phone, you can imagine the agonizing that goes into any additional micro-penny that gets added to the box.”

Now, there have already been rumors about headphones with noise-cancelling technology arriving in the box with the upcoming iPhone. Given Apple’s association with Cirrus Logic, Rhode’s comments further strengthen the speculations.

Furthermore, talking about Lightning-based headphones, Rhode said, “The amount that we can talk about that outside of other folks who are MFi [made for iPhone] partners is relatively limited, but yeah, there’s things that are up and running via the MFi program that people can take and design with today.”

Previous reports have also hinted that Apple, through Beats, is working on wireless earbuds with noise-technology for the iPhone. Even report on Chinese website Anzhuo suggest that the iPhone 7 may arrive bundled with wireless earbuds. What’s more? If an iPhone sans the headphone jack, does actually materialize at the Apple’s fall event this year then it will be the sleekest handset from the Cupertino tech company that users have ever seen.

Earlier reports indicate that doing away with the 3.5mm jack on the upcoming device, would mean shaving-off 1mm of thickness from the current iPhone models. This would ensure that the upcoming iPhone 7 does get to boast its sleek form-factor.

It is widely accepted that the iPhone 7 will be launching during the fall at the company’s annual event. Much before that, speculations indicate a March event which is expected to witness the arrival of 4-inch iPhone 5se, iPad Air 3 and the new Apple Watch. Stay tuned for more. 4D Printing To Be In Existence Soon

#4DPrinting #JenniferLewis – 4D Printing To Be In Existence Soon : There is a lot to achieve by 3-D printing in front of the world, but it is not keeping the researchers to halt in working from pushing ahead. Brace yourself as 4D printing is here, the researchers are developing the printing process making the objects that are created to transform themselves over time.

A team of Harvard scientists pursued the inspiration from nature’s ability to develop structures from a single material that can be twisted and bent by themselves. The new demonstration is built on the microscale printing process that is developed under the guidance of Jennifer Lewis, who is a material scientist at Harvard University. The new capability can be applied in useful ways and it is not for the first instance that there is a hearing regarding the 4D printing.

The technology is used in order to print the things that are programmed to change shapes with the passing time. 4D printing approach can be used for the purpose of tissue engineering, but the goal is far and the researchers have stated that they are no closer for the replacement of organs. With the advancement of technology, they are allowed in the creation of any item that is falling in their movement and accelerating their dynamic nature.

The work is being supported by funding from the Army Research Office and the National Science Foundation’s Material Research Science and Engineering Centre. The idea is based on the nastic plant motions due to the external stimuli such as humidity, light, touch, etc. Through the help of the 4D Technology printing, the products will be livelier and experience more autonomy.
