Apple iPhone 7 specs rumors: Design leaked once again, dual camera setup included

#iPhone7 #iOS – Apple iPhone 7 specs rumors: Design leaked once again, dual camera setup included : Apple iPhone 7 was leaked online, once again and this time the leak related to the upcoming smartphone is in the form of its purported schematics that hint that the company is unlikely to make many design changes.

The schematics shared by Nowhereelse.fr revealed that the look of iPhone 7 will be similar to the iPhone 6s. The company is planning to keep the overall look of the current iPhone same in this year’s flagship.

The form factor and the thickness of iPhone 6s will be the same with that of the iPhone 7. It is not known why Apple decided to stick with the same design at a time when the fans have been looking forward to some revamps.

The Cupertino-based firm is saving up big design changes on the 2017 iPhone, which may be without bezel. It means the screen will take over the front of the device. The front-camera and Touch ID sensor will allegedly be embedded.

It may be recalled that the iPhone 7 schematics hint only minor changes and these tweaks can already do so much in terms of the performance of the new iPhone. Forbes reported that the space of the camera module is relatively larger than the one on the iPhone 6s.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Apple will release two versions of the bigger iPhone 7 – one with rear single-camera and the other sporting rear dual-camera. But the US would get the latter only.

Kuo claims that this variant will come with 3 GB RAM “to meet image processing requirements.” Apart from a dual-camera setup, the Smart Connector is also believed to be limited to the iPhone 7 Plus. Source: DDN

More Polaris10 and Polaris11 Specifications Revealed

Industry sources revealed to TechPowerUp some pretty interesting specifications of AMD’s two upcoming GPUs based on the 4th generation Graphics CoreNext “Polaris” architecture. The company is preparing a performance-segment GPU and a mainstream one. It turns out, that the performance-segment chip, which the press has been referring to as “Ellesmere,” could feature 32 compute units (CUs), and not the previously thought 40.

Assuming that each CU continues to consist of 64 stream processors (SP), you’re looking at an SP count of 2,048. What’s more, this chip is said to offer a single-precision floating point performance of 5.5 TFLOP/s, as claimed by AMD. To put this into perspective, the company had claimed 5.2 TFLOP/s for the “Hawaii”/”Grenada” based FirePro W9100, which launched earlier this February, and that SKU featured all 2,816 SP present on the chip. So this chip is definitely faster than most “Hawaii” based SKUs.

hile “Hawaii” based SKUs feature TDP of no less than 250W, the new chip has a TDP rated no higher than 150W. AMD could pull off a “single 8-pin power connector” feat like NVIDIA, with quite some headroom to spare. The chip features a 256-bit wide GDDR5/GDDR5X memory interface, and 8 GB could be its standard memory amount. The first SKUs based on this chip could feature 7 Gbps GDDR5 memory.

AMD will upgrade the feature-set to include HVEC/H.265 hardware encode/decode acceleration, DisplayPort 1.3, and HDMI 2.0a outputs.

The smaller “Polaris” chip scheduled for 2016, which the press has been referring to as “Baffin,” could feature 14 compute units, working out to a stream processor count of 896. It will be a mainstream chip, succeeding the “Tobago” silicon, which drives the current R7 360 series SKUs, although it wouldn’t surprise us if it outperformed bigger chips, such as the “Trinidad” based R7 370 series. This chip has its peak single-precision floating-point performance rated at 2.5 TFLOP/s. Its TDP is rated at just 50W, and it is expected to feature a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 4 GB of memory.

Moto X 2016 Release on June 9?

#MotoX #MotoX2016 – Moto X 2016 Release on June 9? : Lenovo-owned Motorola is expected to launch a new handset on its annual technology conference on June 9. Company may introduce a new generation Moto X4 to its Moto flagship smartphone.

Rumours about Motorola X4 or X 2016 are surfacing on internet. Company has not announced any detail about any device to be launch during the conference but the Chinese tech giant has stated that it “will announce a new device that will change the way that people think and use their devices”, according to 18 News.

Recently images of prototype of the phone have been leaked on GSM Arena. Images suggest that the device would have 5.5 inch shatterproof screen. Square fingerprint reader can also be seen there.

Moto X could be launched in two variants Moto X Vertex and Moto X Vector thin. Both devices will share same screen and size but hardware configurations would be different.

Vector Thin would be ultra thin or 5.2mm. With Qualcomm’s 820 Snapdragon chipset it would achieve up to 2.0 GHz of processing speed. And could have either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory support. A main camera is expected to be 13MP with laser autofocus and IOS. It would be powered by 2,600 mAh battery.

On the other hand Moto X Vertex might be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 SoC chipset. But with octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU the device would go up to 2.4Ghz.

RAM would be same as Vector Thin but internal storage could be either 16GB or 32GB. It is supposed to have 16MP main camera with laser and face detection autofocus. With 7mm thickness it would be little thicker than Vector Thin.

Both devices are expected to come with a modular system of adding accessories. According to Venture Beat, there would be  connecting on the bottom of back side of device. With these pins devices would be able to connect to special accessories with modular back plates.

These special accessories are called “Amps”. These so called Amps include stereo speakers; a battery pack; a camera grip with flash and optical zoom; a pico projector; and a rugged cover with wide angle lens attachment.

There is no information about price. Company might unveil the device, accessories and prices in the conference on June 6. Source: TheBitbag

Android 6.0 Marshmallow now available for Galaxy S5 Plus

#GalaxyS5Plus #Marshmallow – Android 6.0 Marshmallow now available for Galaxy S5 Plus : Now that Samsung’s current and previous flagship devices have already received their Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update, it should be the turn of the other devices on the “fringes”.

The latest one to finally be update is the Galaxy S5 Plus, the more powerful variant of the 2014 flagship from the Korean OEM. While there are a lot of newer devices available in the market of course, almost two years after this one came out, those who chose to stick with it are finally “rewarded” with this update.

The update to Marshmallow may somehow make you feel like you have a new smartphone. It was actually upgraded to Lollipop in March of 2015, so more than a year later, you get the next big update too.

The main difference between this variant and the then flagship is that the Galaxy S5 Plus used Snapdragon 805 instead of the Snapdragon 801 which the Galaxy S5 had. But other than that, the two devices are basically the same, except of course the Plus is more powerful.

The Marshmallow updates have been notoriously slow, although of course we all know that it’s not a simple process to bring updates to Android devices.

This particular update brings a lot of new features like Google Now On Tap, better notifications, Doze to conserve battery, fingerprint sensor API, and a lot more. And although it is not as massive as the Lollipop update, it’s still interesting to have it, if you’re lucky enough to have a device that has been updated.

The build for Android 6.0.1 has started rolling out in Germany. It should be available through Samsung Smart Switch, and the OTA update should come out within the week. Source: androidcommunity
