Handheld Console Hybrid Will Use Nvidia's Pascal Technology, Could Be More Powerful Than Sony's PS4 Pro, Extends Battery Life : Nintendo News

#Nvidia #Nintendo – Handheld Console Hybrid Will Use Nvidia’s Pascal Technology, Could Be More Powerful Than Sony’s PS4 Pro, Extends Battery Life : Nintendo News : The Nintendo Switch is set to have its features revealed on Jan. 12 next year including its release date, features, games, and lots more. It seems that the old-time gaming giant has dusted off their pants and stood up to run on top along with current major players Microsoft and Sony.

Zenji Nishikawa, a Japanese tech writer, says that the Nintendo Switch could continuously evolve with the help of Nvidia’s Tegra technology. The actual words in translation is: “keep evolving with advance of Tegra itself”. Not quite sure what the actual context is but my guess from the previous sentences would stand for now.

What does this mean?

Well, boys and girls, it means that Nintendo Switch could not just be a one-time built console but rather pattern their product after what the big upcoming consoles – PS4 Pro and Microsoft’s Project Scorpio, are now doing which is making systems that iterate faster than what consoles usually do. Nishikawa’s credibility when it comes to predicting future releases, particularly in the gaming realm, has had its notable moments. For one, he was the first person to say that the PS4 will have a boosted up version years ago, and now PS4 Pro is announced. With Nishikawa’s proven credibility, it’s safe to lean on the possibility side of the spectrum rather than speculation, as reported by Gadgets.NDTV.com.

How will they play it?

Nishikawa also reports that the Switch will be utilizing Nvidia’s Pacal architecture, as opposed to assumed Volta or Maxwell architectures which was previously leaked. That said, Nintendo and NVIDIA are now working together so that the Switch will be packing up customized NVIDIA Tegra chip. As of this writing, no exact specifications are revealed and it is more likely that it will be one of the details to be unveiled on the Jan.12 announcement. With that written, it is being speculated that since Nintendo will be using new technology from NVidia, it will surpass the PS4 Pro’s computing capability. Still, let’s just hold our horses for now.

In addition, WCCFTech.com says that Zenji has posted that the Nintendo Switch will use the Pascal ‘Parker’ technology from NVidia. Since the device is scheduled to be out by March 2017 and the latest and upcoming Tegra generations are embracing ‘Parker’, it seems that both would fit in the timeline.

Nonetheless, if a PS4 Pro/Xbox Scorpio concept is to be implemented for the Nintendo Switch, it will be after years and months after the first generation hits the shelf. This will be most-likely patterned with how Nintendo traditionally releases improved hardware, for instance, the more powerful XL was released a year after the original 3DS.

Does Tegra technology help battery life?

Hopefully it does, according to a post that reveals that NVidia aims to save power with their new cards. Backed with Pascal architecture, the cards are reported to save 60% power compared to its previous generations. I am also particular on how they would pull off battery life for the Nintendo Switch. With all modern technology racing towards being the best, so does the demand powering up for it. If we don’t look into the battery aspects of our devices, we will be left with nothing but superb devices with also superbly short life spans when not plugged in. Report ; Microsoft Pulled More than Half of the Windows 10 Apps in the Store

#Windows10 #Apps –Report ; Microsoft Pulled More than Half of the Windows 10 Apps in the Store    : According to a report that was published in German media, Microsoft actually pulled half of the Windows Store apps, at least from the German Store, as part of the same cleaning process.

It appears that the number of apps available for download experienced a dramatic drop from 328,639 to 164,436, which means that no less than 174,203 apps were removed because of the age rating rule.

What’s very important to note this time, however, is that the removal of the app impacted less known titles, so although quite a lot of them disappeared from the Store, there’s a big chance that only a few people actually noticed.

In most of the cases, Microsoft’s requirement for developers to add age ratings to their apps is not impacting famous software makers, as the majority of them have already updated apps to come with line with Redmond’s policy.

But on the other hand, losing so many apps is clearly a big hit that Windows 10 receives, as some of the titles that were pulled from the Store might actually come in handy to a number of users who installed them on their devices.

On the good side, these apps aren’t completely gone, but only unlisted from the Store, so the only thing that developers have to do in order to make their apps available for download once again is to access the Dev Center and fill in the age ratings for their each of their titles.

This is a little effort that developers need to do for a very simple update, so there’s really no excuse if their titles do not show up in the Store once again. Source: softpedia

Sony Goes Retro With PS4 Pro's First Ad

#Games #PS4Pro – Sony Goes Retro With PS4 Pro’s First Ad : Sony takes a trip down to memory lane with its retro-inspired ad for the PlayStation 4 Pro, to be released in just a couple of weeks. The PS4 Pro ad, which calls the upcoming gaming platform as “the world’s most powerful console”, gives a feeling that we are in Netflix’s huge hit tv series, Stranger Things.

PS4 Pro Ad

With a tie-in to the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Zombies in Spaceland Survival Mode, the first ever PS4 Pro commercial gives us a nostalgic trip to the 80’s. As unveiled in the ad, the latest of Sony’s gaming units is dubbed as the “supercharged PlayStation 4 Pro console system” that boasts its “revolutionary cord-free player paddle joysticks”.

While there wasn’t any mention of the Pro having HDR or 4k Support, the ad is still making waves as it focuses on the mass market instead of giving out too-technical specs.

Additionally, the PS4 Pro ad shows a guy rocking the “cool outfit” in the 80’s – denim, Reooks, and a mullet! Now that seriously caught the attention of viewers of all ages! Even PlayStation UK’s tweet about the ad has had a thousand retweets!

PS4 Pro Specs

PS4 Pro release date is set for Nov. 10 and will cost $399. One of the features Sony is boasting with the latest gaming console is that it has a 1TB hard drive and a doubled GPU power. Its technology also adapts the AMD Polaris graphics. With the said abovementioned specs of the PS4 Pro, it confirms that it “may reach resolutions that are not thought possible on consoles in 2016”.

Sony also promises that the PS4 Pro will “render higher or more consistent framerates, increased environmental and character model detail, improved overall visual quality, and other related visual enhancements.”

And to clarify, you can use the PS4 Pro on any TV that has HDMI but you will get the best out of Sony’s PlayStation 4 Pro with a 4K TV. So no need to worry about selling your old TV unless of course you want to get the best out the Pro. Source itechpost

New Windows 10 Mobile handset has been delayed due to ‘regulatory hurdles’

#WhartonBrooks #Windows10 – New Windows 10 Mobile handset has been delayed due to ‘regulatory hurdles’ : Back in August, WhartonBrooks revealed plans to launch a new Windows 10 Mobile device, claiming that its “innovative approach will define the future of computing”, and that its innovations “will be the most disruptive since the advent of the smartphone in 2000”.

However, doubts have been raised over whether or not WhartonBrooks can live up to its own hype, given that the only product images the company has shown to date appear to be of devices built by Coship – an ODM that has raised its own concerns over the future of Windows 10 Mobile.

WhartonBrooks said that its new device, which is due to launch under its ‘Cerulean Mobile’ brand, would arrive this Fall, but those plans seem to have suffered a setback.

The @CeruleanMobile Twitter account has said that there is a “factory delay due to regulatory hurdles”, which seems likely to push back the release of its new handset. The company said that it is “working through” the delay, but didn’t offer any further details, and it hasn’t yet indicated when exactly it expects to launch the device.

In early September, WhartonBrooks announced plans to host a ‘meet and greet’ event at a Microsoft Store in Connecticut, to give Windows phone fans a chance to find out more about the company and what it’s been working on.

Global Population ; How the world's population has changed and when it will reach eight billion

#GlobalPopulation #World – Global Population ; How the world’s population has changed and when it will reach eight billion : he world’s human population is growing rapidly and is expected to hit eight billion in the next 10 years, according to the latest figures.

The impact this has on the world is huge. Currently scientists are deciding whether to approve the term Anthropocene, a new era in Earth’s history in which humans rather than natural forces are the primary drivers of planetary change.

The human population, which is partly blamed for the world’s biggest mass extinction of vertebrates, is estimated to reach eight billion by 2024 and nine billion by 2038.

This is due to high birth and low death rates – especially in developing countries. While death rates have lowered with some modern healthcare and knowledge, the higher birth rates in these countries have remained.

The global increase is driven by present-day population growth in the Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East and North Africa regions.

Africa in particular is to be home to a population boom this century. By 2100, it will be home to 4.4 billion people – four times its current population.

The Europe and Central Asia and North America regions have had slower growth in recent years. While these regions are still growing, lower birth rates in developed nations have led to older populations that are growing more slowly.

Currently, there are over twice as many human births than deaths on Earth.
