Apple Starts Rolling Out Updated iOS 10.3 Public Beta 2 for Developers

#iOS #iOS10 – Apple Starts Rolling Out Updated iOS 10.3 Public Beta 2 for Developers : Apple is reported to have just very recently started rolling out the iOS 10.3 public beta 2 that will apparently be made available to everyone in a matter of weeks. This update seemingly emanated nearly two weeks after Apple released the initial iOS 10.3.

According to 9To5Mac, Apple is rolling out the second iOS 10.3 beta for developer testing on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. The following are apparently included in the forthcoming software update: Find My AirPods support, CarPlay improvements, Apple’s new filesystem, and many more.

Allegedly, iOS 10.3 is presently only available in beta for registered developers and public beta testers. And subsequently, the public beta version of each update usually follows a few days after the developer version and sometimes comes the same day.

In addition, the post further added that iOS 10.3 is the first version to include Find My AirPods in the Find My iPhone app. Also, allegedly included is Wi-Fi Calling for iCloud-connected devices for Verizon customers. The public beta version ostensibly contains a new 32-bit alert that suggests the iOS could be 64-bit only.

Apple will apparently also introduce a way for developers to reply to app reviews with iOS 10.3, and a new system-wide app review request feature will be added. iOS 10.3 also includes iCloud Analytics for the first time.

According to The Apple Post some of the iOS 10.3 updates includes Siri support for cricket scores from Indian Premier League and International Cricket Council. The weather icon in the Maps app has reportedly a 3D touch to show hourly forecasts. CarPlay status bar apparently has been updated to have a speedy access to media, communication, and travel apps for quick switching without accessing the Home screen. It is said that it can also gain quick access to albums from songs in Music, the new Up Next screen.

iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Code Tool For Yalu, Pangu Release Date News

#iOS10 #iOS – iOS 10.2 Jailbreak Code Tool For Yalu, Pangu Release Date News : Most Apple users have already been enjoying the Yalu Jailbreak for iOS 10.2. Although iPhone 7 and 7 Plus owners are not yet enjoying the tool, recent news claim that it will be available to them soon. On the other hand, there are some key notes you need to know about the tool that will make you understand more how to properly use it.

First thing to know is that the tool called Yalu102 is semi-untethered, as per Telegiz. Meaning, users should repeat the jailbreak process every time they reboot or restart their devices. Also, creator Luca Todesco mentioned that those who have upgraded their devices to 10.2.1 will no longer enjoy the service.

Todesco also warned users to not upgrade to the latest update. According to the hacker, it will fix many bugs and will make iOS 10 impossible to jailbreak. This advice comes after the fact that in updating, your device will become more safe and secure. Obviously, only those who want their device to be jailbroken should follow this advice.

Before upgrading, users should save the SHSH2 blobs for iOS 10.2. Todesco shared that it will allow users to downgrade and upgrade the firmware via Prometheus. This information is certainly a good news for those who want to have an upgrade but also want to enjoy the Yalu Jailbreak for iOS 10.2.

Now, with regard to the iOS jailbreak tweaks, University Herald noted that it includes Wormhole and Gorgone. Immortal, Instalauncher, Stealth Cam, Touch Pass and Horseshoe are also covered. The wormhole will add configurable 3D Touch actions while Immortal will prevent iOS apps expiration. Stealth Cam will allow users to take photos and videos even if iPhone’s screen is off. Touch Pass, on the other hand, will disable the passcode Lock Screen, while the Horseshoe makes the Control Center look luxuriant.

Pangu’s iOS 10.2 Jailbreak

For the Chinese hacking group, they recently announced that they would release a jailbreak tool in less than a month. It may come after a major iOS update is released, which could be the upcoming iOS 3. However, the group failed to disclose as to when exactly the tool will arrive. As a result, there are speculations that it is again a false news.

Ever since iOS 10 rolled out, consumers have never heard anything from Pangu. It is probably because Apple has been really consistent in releasing patches for the system. This could have been the reason why the hacking group is having a hard time to crack the OS down. Hopefully, the recent news will be precise as customers have been waiting for it for quite some time.

How about you? Are you now enjoying the Yalu Jailbreak for iOS 10.2? Do you think Pangu would soon release a tool? Or is it another hoax?

The Best Expected iOS 11 Features: iMessaging Android, Guest Mode & A More Natural Siri

#iOS11 #Siri – The Best Expected iOS 11 Features: iMessaging Android, Guest Mode & A More Natural Siri : There are high expectations this year for Apple, as 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the iPhone – a device that arguably revolutionized how the public uses and understands smartphones. And while there has been a lot of talks about the upcoming iPhone 8, there is another aspect that should be discussed. The Cupertino-based company is expected to roll out its next major operating system update as well, which will introduce exciting new features to the iPhone experience.

Though nothing has been made official, Forbes reports that iOS 11 is expected to roll out to the public in September. The actual announcement, however, may be made as early as June, during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. And since the iPhone 8 is expected to launch within the same time frame, the releases will complement each other nicely.

The speculations regarding the iOS 11 features have been going around for quite some time now and have been highly anticipated by the public. However, the Cupertino-based company is estimated to be saving its best ideas for the anniversary iPhone. This would mean that there is no better time to truly welcome several innovations than now.

One of the biggest possible features is extending iMessaging to Android. This would allow Apple users to interact with Android users in a way that has until now been restricted. There are several features in iMessage that have not been copied by other messaging apps, so the idea of this extension is a welcome one.

It might be argued that this will not work as iMessage is exclusive to iOS. However, the publication notes that BlackBerry previously released BBM for both iOS and Android. Furthermore, it is possible to set Google Hangouts as the default messaging application for Android. The possibility of inputting iMessage into a Samsung, LG or Google device is not an impossible one.

The next possible feature is not foreign to Apple. For a while now, educational institutions have been using Managed Apple IDs, which allow several people to use just one Apple device – the most common of which are iPads. The guest mode may be extended to the iPhone 8 this year via iOS 11, which would allow owners more privacy despite lending their devices to other people.

The guest mode will theoretically provide non-owners access to basic functions such as calling or surfing the web. However, it will not provide details it would normally provide the owner such as call history or browser history. It can also be extended to text messages and saved passwords.

Siri is also slated to get an upgrade this year. Apple has invested a lot into its version of a virtual assistant, even setting up a separate team in Cambridge, England, that works solely to improve her. The team is reportedly working on making Siri sound more nature, as well as providing the same with the skills to control popular third-party applications such as Twitter, Instagram and SnapChat.

But while iOS 11 will undoubtedly introduce the market to several new features and improvements, it will also mean the end of 32-bit applications. As 9to5Mac reports, iOS 9 already included a warning to users that 32-bit apps would slow down the device’s performance. The same support might no longer be seen with Apple’s next major OS update.

iOS 11 Will Only Support iPhone 5s and Above

#iOS11 #iPhone – iOS 11 Will Only Support iPhone 5s and Above : The iOS is perhaps one of the best mobile operating system there is. It is used on any mobile device made by Apple, ranging from the iPhone to the iPad. The current iOS release is now at version 10.2.1 while the successor, iOS 10.3, is already on public beta. Every iteration of the iOS brings forth new improvements and features for all users. However, it seems that the iOS 11 update will be limited to the iPhone 5s and above.

According to 9to5Mac, the current public beta version of iOS alerts users with apps that are running in 32-bit mode. On the iPhone, the operating system alerts the 32-bit app users to update their applications. Otherwise, those apps will not be able to run on future versions of the iOS. Meanwhile, on the iPad, the system alerts users that older apps may slow down their devices.

32-bit systems

It would seem that Apple is gearing up for a major iOS update this year. This news will inevitably leave a fair number of iOS devices behind. This is due to the fact that they will not be able to update to the latest version of the operating system.

The iPhone 5C is the last 32-bit iPhone from Apple. This means that anything below the 5C will not be able to support the upcoming iOS 11. This also means that the last update that they would probably get is the iOS 10.3. From here on, only iPhone 5s and above users will be able to take advantage of the firmware update.

iOS 11 release date

At the moment, there are no news yet as to when the iOS 11 will be released. However, there is a strong chance that Apple will introduce the iOS 11 during the upcoming Worldwide Developers Convention. The event, which highlights upcoming Apple products and technologies, is normally held in the middle of June. For this year, Apple is yet to announce the venue and event dates for the said event.

After the initial introduction, it would take at least a few more months before Apple seeds the developer and public betas. From there, it would take a few more weeks before the first stable version of iOS 11 is available for public use. All in all, users could be looking at either a September or October release. This will, perhaps, coincide with the release of Apple’s tenth anniversary iPhone, the iPhone X.

Windows 10 Mobile Start Screen vs. iOS Home Screen: Beauty and the Beast

#Windows10Mobile #iOS – Windows 10 Mobile Start Screen vs. iOS Home Screen: Beauty and the Beast : The home screen is one of the essential UI parts of every mobile platform, pretty much because, just like its name suggests, it is the home of everything on the device, so you get to see it quite often.

As mobile operating systems evolved, developers attempted to improve home screens too, and Apple and Microsoft make no exception to this. Both iOS and Windows 10 Mobile come with their own styles for the home screen, and today we’re going to discuss both to see their main features.

iOS home screen

Long-time iPhone users can’t help but admit that the iOS home screen has barely changed over the years and it looks almost exactly the same as nearly 10 years ago when Apple launched the first iPhone.

Truth be told, Apple did implement some small improvements here and there, including new icons, but overall, the look of the home screen is pretty much the same.

One of the most criticized things about iOS is the lack of customization, and the home screen itself perfectly aligns with this. The only thing you can configure about the home screen is the wallpaper and… that’s basically it. No option to change colors, no settings for icons, nothing. Just change the background and then you’re supposed to be super-excited with your “new” iPhone.

The only good thing about the wallpaper is that Apple supports both dynamic and static photos, so if you wish, you can use an animated photo as your background. But other than that, this is the only thing you can change on your iPhone home screen.

Windows 10 Mobile Start screen

If iOS is super-limited when it comes to home screen customization, not the same thing can be said about Windows 10 Mobile.

First and foremost, Windows 10 Mobile has the really awesome live tiles, which are animated tiles that can display essential information without the need for opening apps, such as weather forecast, email senders and subjects, the song you’re listening to and so on.

But there’s so much to configure about the Start screen. Just head over to Settings > Personalization > Start and you can find several useful options, including background settings, and additional controls for style (tile picture or full screen picture). You can also adjust tile transparency and show more tiles on the Start. Additionally, you can also configure the accent color used in the operating system and on Start, but also toggle between dark and light.

As compared to iOS, Windows 10 Mobile does not come with support for dynamic wallpapers, but just look how many other things you can configure.

In the end, it looks like we have a clear winner, even though judging from a market share perspective, the iPhone is a much more successful product, even with its boring home screen. Which one do you like more?

Apple iMac 2017 Release Slated In Q1 2017; Upcoming PC To Feature Intel Kaby-Lake Processor, 5K Display And VR Compatibility

#AppleiMac #AppleiMac2017 – Apple iMac 2017 Release Slated In Q1 2017; Upcoming PC To Feature Intel Kaby-Lake Processor, 5K Display And VR Compatibility  : Tech enthusiasts have been dismayed since the Cupertino-based company wasn’t able to announce details about its upcoming iMac 2017 during its event held September last year. But now, speculations have shed some light as the upcoming PC will reportedly make its first appearance quarter one this year boasting awesome specs.

According to Mobile & Apps, the upcoming iMac 2017 might be released in March or at least during Q1of 2017. It was also noted that during an internal Q&A session Tim Cook specified that Apple Inc. has a few desktops worth waiting for in the roadmap.

In contrary, there have been hearsays stating that the upcoming desktop might be unveiled during this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which is not slated to take place anytime soon.

When it comes with the possible specs and features, iTech Post stated in its article that the upcoming iMac 2017 might boast Intel Kaby Lake processor since Apple already utilized Intel Skylake chipset to its predecessor. Moreover, there have been talks stating that the Cupertino-based tech giant might consider incorporating AMD’s latest generation of graphics chips Polaris and would sooner or later bring both of them together for the next generation iMac 2017 edition.

It was also worth noting that one of the most widely deliberated speculations is the claim that Apple’s new iMacs will feature AMD Radeon Polaris graphics chips and might even be VR-ready. In addition, reports stated that Tim Cook already hinted that the future iMac desktop would be equipped with 5K display and it might be called the 5K iMac.

As of now, Apple Inc. hasn’t confirmed any exact release schedule, specs and features of the upcoming iMac 2017. So, the company’s avid fans are advised to take the above-mentioned information with skepticism. But then, as the launch of the device nears, the tech giant will surely reveal every single detail about the upcoming desktop.

Apple’s Borrowing a Windows Phone Feature Trying to Make It Revolutionary

#Apple #WindowsPhone – Apple’s Borrowing a Windows Phone Feature Trying to Make It Revolutionary : One of the features that could make their way to the next-generation iPhone is biometric authentication, which should help Apple follow in the footsteps of other companies already offering such security features.

While Microsoft has more or less failed in the mobile business, the Redmond-based software giant still managed to innovate with some new technologies released on its phones, including the iris scanner feature that’s part of a feature known as Windows Hello.

Iris scanning became available on Windows phone with the release of the Lumia 950 XL back in October 2015 and at that point, Microsoft expected it to become the pioneer of the Windows Phone comeback. The platform, however, failed to gain ground, but Windows Hello still remains an innovative technology that was later implemented on other flagships, including Samsung’s own Galaxy Note 7.

And now, it appears that Apple is trying to introduce a new technology on the iPhone that would use the iris scanning tech first rolled out by Microsoft as the foundation.

Rumor has it that Apple wants to use the iris scanner as a starting point for a more advanced biometric authentication technology that would scan the entire face to grant access to the device, rather than just the iris.

Apple already tested the iris scanner

We’re being told that Apple originally wanted to launch the iPhone with a typical iris scanning feature, but given the fact that it was too similar to the existing implementations, the company then decided to go one step further and offer a full-face recognition system.

Furthermore, it appears that Apple itself didn’t consider the traditional iris scanner to be hackerproof, with some internal research showing that expanding the system to the entire face provides better security. Apple is also said to be working on making the iPhone hackerproof following the San Bernardino scandal.

And even though the new iPhone feature would scan the entire face, it would still include sensors analyzing the iris, but also other elements, such as the shape of the nose and the mouth. If all of these match the profile configured in the iPhone, the user is provided with access to the device.

For the moment, it’s not exactly clear when Apple is planning to introduce the new face recognition system, and there’s a small chance to see it going live on the next-generation iPhone coming this fall.

So there you go, Microsoft launched the iris scanner on modern phones and Apple seems to be ready to push it further. Now’s your turn, Microsoft, so you better make that Surface Phone truly revolutionary.

Apple Watch 3 To Sport Circular Design With Improved Battery Life And FaceTime Camera

#AppleWatch #AppleWatch3 – Apple Watch 3 To Sport Circular Design With Improved Battery Life And FaceTime Camera : The Apple Watch Series 2 was unveiled at an Apple’s event in September 2016, carrying new features like a dual-core processor, water-resistance and a brighter display. Apple Inc. might have introduced a mass of important upgrades on its Apple Watch Series 2, but every device has room for improvement. This makes the tech world probably to eagerly await the launch of the tech giant’s next-generation smartwatch, the Apple Watch 3.

A new report says improved battery life will be the main focus of the Apple Watch Series 3, with no major design changes. It is expected that the Watch 3 will look and feel like the present Series 2 watches. Although there are some who reportedly are expecting different straps, a new FaceTime camera and even a circular design.

There could also be no modification to the design, aside from new colors added to the line-up. Apple might consider a new multi-function band. Apparently, Apple recently filed a patent with details of a magnetic wristband for the Apple Watch that offers additional functionality.

Accordingly, the magnetic wristband will feature a band with a set of magnets embedded into it, that will allow the two sides to join together. This means that when worn, the magnets would hold the Apple Watch in place. When the watch is taken off, the new band comes into its own.

Considering the battery life of the upcoming Apple Watch 3, the gadget is not expected to offer a larger battery compared to its predecessor the Apple Watch Series 2. Accordingly, the Apple Watch Series 2 requires a daily charge which is a great embarrassment, considering what rival smartwatch devices are capable of.

A fully-functioning GPS system was also introduced on the Apple Watch Series 2. Present Apple Watch Series 2 users are able to use the GPS on their smartwatch device without the required pairing of a compatible iPhone. A similar wireless connectivity on the company’s upcoming Apple Watch 3 would be very interesting.

iOS 11 Rumors: Release Date and New Features to Come

#iOS #iOS11 – iOS 11 Rumors: Release Date and New Features to Come : Over the years, Apple’s iOS has grown into an advanced and sophisticated operating system for mobile devices. Anyone who uses an Apple product would, at some point, have used a version or two of the iOS. The current version, iOS 10, was released last September along with the unveiling of the iPhone 7. This year, there is a high probability that the same thing will happen with the iOS 11.

For the past couple of months now, rumors about the upcoming iPhone 8 have been circulating the Internet. Although not much is said about it, many experts believe that the next iteration of iOS, the iOS 11, will be released along with the phone. In line with this, many are now anticipating as to what new features the next iOS will bring to Apple’s mobile devices.

iOS 11 release date

It has been a tradition for Apple to announce its upcoming products during its Worldwide Developers Conference event. The said event is normally held in June every year. Just like the WWDC event last year, many expect that Apple will unveil iOS 11 in this year’s conference.

Following the announcement will be the official release of iOS 11. The actual release, much like the announcement, is quite easy to predict. Normally, Apple products get released three months after the official WWDC announcement. That being said, consumers can expect the iOS 11 to be released some time in September. The same time as the iPhone 8 official release.

iOS 11 features

According to Macworld, iOS 9 marks the new lifecycle for Apple’s iOS. Instead of doing major updates, the company is now giving small improvements on the operating system in every releases. This has something to do with the fact that, over the years, iOS has properly matured into a stable and feature-rich operating system. The need to make it interesting can be supplicated with minuscule improvements released on a regular basis. Nevertheless, users are still expecting some changes to be had for the upcoming iOS update.

Among the most requested feature for iOS is the “dark mode”. This feature is taken from Android devices and makes use of the fact that energy can be saved by making the main user interface darker. This, in effect, leaves only colors apart from black to be rendered on the screen. While many swear by it, the energy saving can only be achieved with OLED panels since these displays do not have in-built backlighting. That being said, the rumors of the iPhone 8 implementing OLED displays makes this feature somewhat reasonable.

Apart from this, most improvements would focus on the general aesthetics of the user interface. Apple could finally include an option to customize themes instead of the preprogrammed iOS themes. Furthermore, tools like the on-screen keyboard is also open for improvements.

In addition, a new iOS 10.3 beta has been allegedly reported for this week and may have a new Theater Mode toggle accessible in part thru Control Center ahead of iOS 11 later this year. Note that under-the-hood changes were the main focus in the past beta builds of iOS 10.2.1 and macOS 10.12.3 rather than outward or UI changes, Cult of Mac reported.

Some of the features were over 100 added new emoji, improvements to the Message app, new wallpapers for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
