Samsung Galaxy S8 Unboxed And Coming On April 21

#Samsung #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Unboxed And Coming On April 21 : The Samsung Galaxy S8 is finally here… almost. As expected, the Korean conglomerate unveiled its latest flagship smartphone at the Unpacked 2017 event held yesterday, March 29. Pre-orders for the handset will start on the 31st while the device itself will be shipped to U.S. shores come April 21. This gives fans three weeks to ponder on their decision while waiting for their orders to be delivered.

There’s little to debate about regarding the features and specifications of the Galaxy S8. On paper, the smartphone is arguably one of the best ever. Understandably, some people may be having second thoughts about purchasing the smartphone because of Samsung’s recent bad rep courtesy of recalls, arrests, and exploding batteries.

It’s undeniable, however, that the highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S8 is a beautiful piece of machinery. The svelte look of the Galaxy S8 is both surprising and not. Despite the number of rumors and leaks showing the design of the Galaxy S8, seeing and holding the actual device still fuels awe and amazement. The Samsung Galaxy S8 combines glass and metal perfectly while giving its users more space to work on with its huge 5.8-inch screen (6.2 inches for the S8 Plus) packed in a rather lithe body. The bezels are distinctly slimmer, the sides are curved and the physical home button is gone.

Another feature that got an impressive upgrade is its front camera. The Galaxy S8 now sports an 8MP front-facing camera, up from the S7’s 5MP. The rear camera, however, remained at 12MP.

Samsung also introduced its Bixby voice assistant. The company claims that Bixby is capable of doing more as compared to other digital assistants, though, for now, it will only work with certain Samsung apps.

The biggest concern with the Galaxy S8, as CBS noted, is its battery. Samsung acknowledged the embarrassment of the Galaxy Note 7 when its executives explained that the company implemented new and better standards and procedures including an eight-point battery check for their devices starting with the Galaxy S8.

The Verge stated that Samsung did not announce a fixed price for the flagship smartphone. This is a common practice of the Korean tech company which prefers that carriers dictate the actual retail price. However, many estimate the smartphone to be available for no less than $720. While the price will depend on the carriers, what is set in stone is that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will come on April 21.

Samsung Galaxy S8 to Have the Same Battery Capacity as the S7 and Note 7

#SamsungGalaxy #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 to Have the Same Battery Capacity as the S7 and Note 7 : Samsung is believed to feature the same battery capacity on the Galaxy S8, as on the two previous flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy Note 7. The Investor reported that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus will come with 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh batteries.

The information should be taken with a grain of salt, but these two battery capacities are quite plausible considering that the Galaxy S8 will be about the same size as the Galaxy S7, only the display will be larger.

“After completing a rage of tests, Samsung made a final decision to deploy the battery capacity for the two S8 variants,” a Samsung official said.

The Galaxy S8 is expected to come in two variants, one with a 5.7-inch display and the other with a 6.0-inch screen. The rumored battery capacities should be enough to power the smartphone, considering that it will also pack Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, with enhanced power efficiency compared to previous chipset models.

Samsung will be starting mass production soon

The Galaxy S8 Plus would have the same battery capacity as the Galaxy Note 7, but will undergo rigorous testing to make sure that it doesn’t pose a safety risk. Samsung did announce an 8 battery tests that each device will undergo before being prepped for shipping.

Samsung is said to have already received phone components in large volumes for starting the mass production of the Galaxy S8. The report also mentions that Samsung tapped Murata Manufacturing from Japan for the supply of Galaxy S8 batteries.

Moreover, China’s ATL and Samsung SDI are believed to be the other two major manufacturers of batteries for the upcoming flagship. However, Samsung SDI’s credibility was quite damaged after the Note 7 fiasco and one of its plants caught fire recently.

It would be interesting to see who will manufacture the battery inside the new flagship, if Samsung has indeed picked the same suppliers as for the Galaxy Note 7, this might affect the market perception about the new phone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks: Photos Of Device And Official Cases Confirms Rumors

#SamsungGalaxy #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks: Photos Of Device And Official Cases Confirms Rumors : The Samsung Galaxy S8 is proclaimed by most tech experts as the company’s make or break device after the disastrous recall of its previous generation phablet offering, the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Being the first flagship to be launched right after the exploding battery issue means that the company would have to make sure that it impresses its consumers for it to regain its reputation as one of the leading smartphone manufacturers in the world.

Given that Samsung will likely be putting all of its efforts in the creation of the next Galaxy S flagship, there is a lot of expectations for some very innovative features to be included. Several news leaks, via Android Pure, has now revealed that Samsung has indeed pulled out all the stops with their upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 device.

Some of the images that were shown by the website features some live images of the device’s official cases. The cases confirms that Samsung will indeed be transferring the fingerprint scanner to the back of the device. The move is of course to free up space for an edge-to-edge display that will likely be covering the entire front of the new Samsung Galaxy S8. Other leaked images obtained by Venture Beat allegedly showcased the front of the device, which does show that it has no home button. The edge-to-edge display, being referred to as an “infinity screen,” covers the entire front part of the device with its edges curving towards the back.

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly be offered in two variants, namely a 5.8-inch model and a 6.2-inch model called the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. Both devices were previously expected to be unveiled at the upcoming 2017 Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, Spain. However, Samsung’s Koh Dong-jin had confirmed that they won’t be unveiling the devices at the event this month like the previous Galaxy S smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumors: March Release Not True?

#SamsungGalaxy #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Rumors: March Release Not True? : Consumers are definitely waiting for the release of Samsung Galaxy S8. Although Samsung has yet to announce the official release date of the handset, recent rumors claim that it will be earlier than what buyers are expecting. Also, new features of the phone might have been revealed in latest reports.

After all the troubles Samsung faced because of their Galaxy Note 7, consumers across the globe are looking forward to how the South Korean smartphone company will bounce back. A lot of critics believe that the upcoming Galaxy S8 is the device that will regain the trust of Samsung’s consumers. Therefore, it is pretty important to know when the handset will roll out.

Previous reports stated that the flagship phone will arrive on April 15. After this, some buyers might have started saving up for the handset. But your time table will certainly be ruined if this latest report is something to go by. According to Express, Samsung will launch the smartphone 18 days earlier than what was previously predicted.

The report was based on a recent tweet of Evan Bass. According to him, the phone will be launched on March 29. Now, for those who are wondering, Bass was the one who correctly predicted the launch of Galaxy S7, so his announcement is quite huge because it might be precise once more. However, it is obvious that there is no way to confirm that as Samsung has remained quiet about the release of Galaxy S8.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Specs

Meanwhile, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is going to feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. A few weeks ago, Samsung and Qualcomm announced their partnership which confirmed previous speculations about the chipset supporting the phone.

Other rumors suggest that the flagship phone will have sizes that are bigger than usual. According to a previous report, the standard Galaxy S8 will sport a 5.8-inch screen display. It is .3 larger than the previous size of 5.5 inches. Also, the “Plus” size of the handset will be much bigger than S7 Plus, so consumers should really expect top-of-the-line screen display.

There you have it! All the latest rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S8. Whether or not it will hit the stores in late March, the handset will still be available not later than the second quarter of 2017.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks New Feature 'Infinity' Display And Desktop Dock

#SamsungGalaxy #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaks New Feature ‘Infinity’ Display And Desktop Dock : The Galaxy S8 will be unveiled in late March and will go on sale on or around 21 April, later than the originally planned debut at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February due to knock-on effects of the Note 7 fiasco. Galaxy S8 is said to arrive in two sizes, have an almost bezel-less, edge-to-edge “infinity” display and with an iris scanner.

The With Infinity Display

The devices will be sporting the same or smaller proportions of the previous versions of Samsung‘s flagship smartphone but with larger displays, according to several sources. The Samsung Galaxy S7 was available with either a 5.1in and 5.5in screen. There’s no flat-screened variant in the pipeline, according to these particular reports, and has no plans for dual rear camera adoption, and fortunately, no intention to join the headphone jack ditching initiative. With virtually no display borders, no front company logo, the 2 variants will bear an iris scanner, and also with fingerprint recognition technology moved to the back of the device.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Could Work As A Desktop/PC

However, according to the rumors taking rounds online, there is no confirmation yet if the rumored name “Bixby” for Samsung’s new digital assistant will be launched on the new phones, but they did confirm its existence. Finally, the Galaxy S8 will come with a new accessory called DeX, which essentially turns the smartphone into an Android-based desktop computer. Samsung has attempted to bring greater synergy between its Windows PCs and Android devices, using connectivity services that sync data and enable control of Samsung Android smartphones through Windows apps. If these expectations are true, the Galaxy S8 seems like it will be worth the wait.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaked Picture Could Be the Real Deal

#SamsungGalaxy #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Leaked Picture Could Be the Real Deal : Now that Samsung has confirmed the Galaxy S8 won’t be officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in late February, we’re probably drowned in a bucketload of leaked specs and pictures of the phone.

If you’ve already got your fair share of renders, as in artistic representations, showing the alleged Samsung Galaxy S8, here is a picture that might be the real deal. Unfortunately, we can’t confirm the legitimacy of the photo since it doesn’t come from a reliable source.

Unlike some of the renders posted online in the last couple of weeks, the device shown in the picture leaked by Priceraja has a LED flash in the front, along with a couple of additional sensors, including an iris scanner.

The phone looks slightly different from what we’ve seen in the pictures of the photoshopped Galaxy S7 edge that have been making the rounds on the Internet lately. Obviously, this doesn’t mean it can’t be a fake photo, but its accuracy might be higher.

It’s all there: bezel-less design, no Home button, iris scanner

Another aspect that makes the alleged Galaxy S8 shown in this picture slightly different from what we’ve seen until now is the size of the bezels.

While the left and right sides of the phone are almost bezel-less, the upper and bottom parts feature slightly larger bezels than the ones shown in previous renders.

Since there’s one picture of the phone, which shows the front side, it remains to determine whether or not the Galaxy S8 will have dual-lens camera and a fingerprint sensor on the back side.

Previous reports have suggested Samsung has decided to drop the physical Home button and implement the fingerprint sensor under the display.

The phone shown in the image doesn’t have any physical buttons on the front side, but it does feature dual volume keys on the left and the power on/off button on the right.

We’ll most likely be flooded with more pictures allegedly showing the upcoming Galaxy S8, but unless they’re coming from reliable sources, they must be treated with caution.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specifications, Price, and More: What the Rumours Say

#Samsung #GalaxyS8 – Samsung Galaxy S8 Release Date, Specifications, Price, and More: What the Rumours Say : With the Galaxy Note 7 debacle, Samsung has lost a lot more than just billions of dollars last year. The South Korean giant has spent considerable time and effort in making amends to Galaxy Note 7 buyers, fixing its reputation, as well as identifying the cause behind the smartphone’s explosions. And the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is its first big bet to move past the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

Therefore, it is no surprise that all eyes have been on Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks, much more than for other flagship smartphone, as 2017 is expected be the year of redemption for the company. Curious about the Samsung Galaxy S8? Here’s everything we know about the Samsung’s 2017 flagship.

Samsung Galaxy S8 launch date

While Samsung was expected to be on schedule and launch the Galaxy S8 in February, recent reports indicate a delay due to the Note 7 fiasco and major design changes. The smartphone was expected to be unveiled at MWC this year, but Naver reports a further delay. The most recent pegged launch date is at April 18, and Samsung will launch the Galaxy S8 at a dedicated Unpacked event. The Samsung Galaxy S8 release date is not known, nor its release date in India.

Samsung Galaxy S8 price

The price of the Galaxy S8 is still a mystery, but a few reports hint that due to the major changes, the smartphone will be priced a little higher than the Samsung Galaxy S7. Goldman Sachs predicts that the Galaxy S8 will see a rise in prices by up to 15 to 20 percent compared to its predecessor. Of course, for now, what the Samsung Galaxy S8 price in India will be is not known at this point.

Samsung Galaxy S8 display

Samsung Galaxy S8 is pegged to have a dual-edged curved display with almost negligible bezel. There was an early report that pegged the screen-to-body ratio at 90 percent. The recent photo leak shows that the display takes up all the space, and only the top and bottom bezel are seen; a promotional video by Samsung that is said to feature the upcoming Galaxy S8 also shows that the smartphone has thin bezels on the sides, and that the display takes up most of the front panel. The top bezel of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 houses the speaker, front camera, and the sensors, while the bottom bezel only houses the logo. As for specifications, one report indicates that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.5-inch 4K (2160×3840 pixels) Super AMOLED display and will boast of an impressive pixel density of 806ppi.

Samsung Galaxy S8 iris scanner

Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to feature an iris scanner, which will allow users to unlock the smartphone just by looking at it. The feature made its debut on Samsung devices with the Galaxy Note 7, so it won’t be a stretch to imagine this same functionality on the Galaxy S8 as well.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will come in two variants

However, a separate leak also suggests that the company could launch its next flagship smartphone in two screen size variants – 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch. The larger variant is expected to be called the Galaxy S8 Plus, which is said to have the model number SM-G9550/SM-G9550X; the smaller Galaxy S8 variant, on the other hand, is said to have the model number SM-G9500/SM-G9500X. More recently however, screen sizes of 5-inch and 6-inch were tipped for the same models.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will not have Home button

Samsung is expected to ditch the Home Button, and have an all-display front. The iconic capsule shaped button at the bottom will be ditched, along with the capacitive buttons as well. A recent photo leak testified to this rumour further, but the image strangely didn’t show any on screen buttons either.

Samsung Galaxy S8 fingerprint scanner

Traditionally, all Samsung smartphones have integrated the fingerprint sensor underneath the Home Button, but because the Home Button is being let go, the fingerprint sensor may reside at the back of the phone. Another report notes that the device may sport an optical fingerprint scanner that will enable reading thumb print through the display as well.

Samsung Galaxy S8 virtual assistant

Samsung is widely leveraging its Viv Labs acquisition to introduce “an enhanced artificial-intelligence service” in the Galaxy S8. The developers at Viv previously founded Siri which is now Apple’s digital voice-assistant on mobile devices. Samsung is calling its version Bixby, and will use the new virtual assistant in mostly all the native apps that will come pre-installed in the Galaxy S8. A separate rumour indicates that the male voice of the assistant will be called Bixby, while the female voice will be called Kestra.

Samsung Galaxy S8 processor

The Galaxy S8 flagship smartphone will likely be powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 835 SoC from Qualcomm while an Exynos 8895-based variant is also being rumoured. It will be paired with a 6GB of RAM or an 8GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy S8 pressure sensitive display

Following Apple’s lead, Samsung may integrate a pressure-sensitive display technology in its next flagship. Notably, Samsung’s technology is expected to work similarly to Apple’s 3D Touch tech introduced with the iPhone 6s. The technology will be able to distinguish between a light tap and deep press, enabling access to more functions just by pressing harder.

Samsung Galaxy S8 storage

The Galaxy S8 is also rumoured to sport a 256GB storage variant. It is unclear whether this will be the only storage option, or one of the storage variants made available in the market. If Samsung follows tradition, then a separate microSD slot for further expansion of memory will also be offered with Galaxy S8. Just to put things into perspective, the predecessor was offered in 32GB and 64GB storage variants only.

Samsung Galaxy S8 camera

Early leaks point at a dual camera setup at the back – one 16-megapixel lens and another 8-megapixel lens. However, the latest leaks hint that due to the large display in the front, a dual camera setup will be hard to cram in. The camera, however, will see and upgrade and the Samsung Galaxy S8 may finally become the company’s first smartphone to feature autofocus functionality on the front camera.

Samsung Galaxy S8 audio jack

Just like the iPhone 7 rumours, the audio jack leaks of the Galaxy S8 have been aplenty. Reports indicate that Samsung is getting rid of the old 3.5mm audio standard, and will bundle a 3.5mm-headphone-to-USB Type-C adapter, just like Apple. A separate report also hints that Samsung will launch wireless headphones alongside as well.

Samsung Galaxy S8’s Continuum-like feature

Lastly, the Galaxy S8 is also tipped to come with something similar to the popular Continuum feature seen on Windows 10 Mobile devices. This means that you could use your smartphone on your PC by connecting the device to the monitor, and the keyboard and mouse via Bluetooth (presumably). According to the leak, the feature is being called the Samsung Desktop Experience.

Did these Samsung Display videos out the Galaxy S8?

#SamsungDisplay #GalaxyS8 – Did these Samsung Display videos out the Galaxy S8? : A couple of videos released by Samsung Display yesterday, feature news about AMOLED screens. Unfortunately, it is in Korean which means that we can’t understand a word of it. But the big news coming from the videos require us to see, which means that the language barrier doesn’t factor into it. The two videos just might have starred prototypes of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The device in question features thin bezels, which we expect to see on the new model. It also fails to have a home button, which is something we also expect to see from Samsung’s upcoming flagship model. The fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy S8 will most likely be found embedded underneath the display.

We should point out that the phones in the video are using a flat screen, which goes against the renders that we have seen for the handset thus far. The Samsung Galaxy S8 reportedly will feature a dual-curved edge screen which means that a separate Samsung Galaxy S8 edge model will not be produced this year. Instead, a premium 6-inch Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus could be released, carrying a dual camera setup in back.

We also can’t imagine Samsung giving the green light to a pair of videos that would accidentally give away one of the hottest secrets in the industry right now. What we will probably see is the number of renders and leaked images continue to pick up as we head toward the possible February 26th unveiling of the phone at MWC in Barcelona. There is talk that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be released on April 18th.

Check out the videos from Samsung Display, both of which can be found below.
