Xiaomi Mi 6 visits AnTuTu, scores 170,000

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi 6 visits AnTuTu, scores 170,000 : Xiaomi may take the wraps off its next flagship smartphone as soon as tomorrow. We told you about this development a few hours ago, and it would certainly be an odd introduction if it pans out, because the outing of a new product tomorrow was only confirmed by company execs today. Usually invites for such events are sent out at least a few days in advance.

Anyway, the Mi 6 is continuing to hit various benchmarks in the meantime. We’ve seen it in the GFXBench database last week, and today it’s been spotted at AnTuTu. The prototype that got put through the paces of the benchmark managed to score around 170,000 points, which is certainly a big improvement over the 131,000 that the Mi 5s was able to achieve.

That’s in no small part to do with the fact that the Mi 6 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. AnTuTu’s information listing for the Xiaomi handset calls it by its codename Sagit, which is in fact the same moniker we’ve seen at GFXBench. That SoC it has makes us certain it’s the Mi 6 in disguise.

As you can see from the image above, AnTuTu confirms that at least one model of the Mi 6 will arrive with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a 12 MP main camera, and an 8 MP selfie shooter. It has a 1080p touchscreen and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat underneath the latest version of MIUI.

All of these details have previously been outed by GFXBench, so you can pretty much bet on them being the final specs for the Mi 6 – especially if we’re mere hours away from its unveiling. That said, this version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is likely to be the entry-level option. We should see some more variants with more memory and storage, which will command a price premium as you’d expect.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will most likely be unveiled tomorrow

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – The Xiaomi Mi 6 will most likely be unveiled tomorrow : As a result of its devices’ relatively good specs and competitive prices, Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in China, though the brand has been growing in popularity outside the country as well. We’ve been hearing rumors of its newest flagship, the Mi 6, for quite some time now, but a recent string of posts on Xiaomi’s official page on Chinese social networking site Weibo suggests the device will be unveiled tomorrow, April 11.

Starting April 6, Xiaomi has been publishing daily posts dedicated to each of its Mi flagships on its Weibo page, and today it has posted the last of them, the one for the Mi 5. While this isn’t an outright confirmation that the Mi 6 will be announced tomorrow, the timing is weirdly coincidental with a press conference that will be held tomorrow. Moreover, Xiaomi has apparently sent a WeChat message to its fans saying they should expect something tomorrow at noon, further confirming there is a big reveal coming up.

While it may not be as leaky as the Samsung Galaxy S8, we still know quite a lot about the Mi 6. Its processor will most likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, though we have also heard rumors of a 821 version as well. The rear camera of the device is said to be a 12 MP dual-camera module with Sony’s IMX 386 sensor, while the front will be a regular 8 MP shooter with IMX 268. There will also apparently be two options memory-wise: a 4GB RAM + 64GB internal memory one, and another with a 6 GB + 128 GB combo.

The screen is said to sport a 5.2-inch panel, though there’s also apparently two versions of that as well: one will have a Quad HD resolution, while the other will top at Full HD instead. It’s not entirely clear whether there will be just two versions of the device, or if Xiaomi will be playing mix-and-match with the specs, but we surely won’t have to wait for long to see. The phone is said to also run Android 7.1.1 and will reportedly be IP68-certified.

The press conference is set for noon Hong Kong time on April 11, which translates to midnight Eastern Time. We’ll make sure to keep you updated if the Mi 6 really does get unveiled tomorrow, though we’re almost certain it will.

Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Sport Material That Will Make It Extremely Scratch Resistant

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Sport Material That Will Make It Extremely Scratch Resistant : You might have heard the rumor that Xiaomi isn’t going to be appearing at this year’s MWC trade show. However just like Samsung, the manufacturer has a flagship planned for 2017 and it is expected that the device is going to sport a material that will make it extremely scratch resistant. While that is great to hear, there are going to be some trade-offs due to that, and you will soon find out.

Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Come With a Ceramic Body Just Like Mi Mix – Will Become Near-Impervious to Scratches

One rumor coming out of China (via MyDrivers) suggests that the upcoming flagship is going to sport a ceramic body just like the Mi Mix. This could also mean that the Mi6 could ship out with a small number of bezels, but we’ll wait for confirmation to come through before we give our own verdict. Coming to the material of the Xiaomi Mi6, the ceramic used on the Mi Mix made it extremely scratch resistant. In fact, in several scratch tests, the smartphone’s body held up far better compared to the competition which in other words mean that car keys and coins will inflict absolutely no damage to its exterior.

However, it presents one problem as far as the ceramic body goes. The more scratch resistant something becomes, the more brittle it will become and even a small drop will result in the ceramic body cracking. There were drop tests carried out on the Mi Mix and it didn’t take much of an effort to damage the beautifully crafted handset. If the rumor turns out to be true, Xiaomi will no doubt attempt to market the beautiful ceramic body of the flagship, but it will also recommend customers to put on a high-quality case to prevent irreparable damage to the smartphone.

Ideally, a transparent high-quality case will allow you to show off the aesthetic quality of the smartphone, and its specifications are also expected to be high-end. We’ll continue to provide you with detailed stories like this, but take this rumor with a pinch of salt for now.

Xiaomi Mi6 Launching At MWC 2017: Here's What You Need To Know

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi6 Launching At MWC 2017: Here’s What You Need To Know : For a while, rumors about a forthcoming smartphone flagship, Xiaomi Mi6, from Xiaomi have floated around. In addition to a 4K display capability, it has been leaked that this new product is also equipped with a 16-core processor.

Amid all the uncertainties surrounding the next item from the Chinese tech firm, what is likely to occur is the company’s participation during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona this February 2017. It is probable that the Mi6 will be unveiled there.

It is perceived that Xiaomi’s newest handset will initially surface in Mainland China. Judging from this scenario, the devices will be marketed by noted importers like GearBest and Geekbuying.

Observers anticipate that Xiaomi will be introducing three models, namely, the Mi6 Lite, the Mi6 Standard and the Mi6 Pro. Sony will probably integrate a 4MP front lens and a 12MP sensor-supported rear camera.

In terms of design, the metal-cased unit will have a home button where a fingerprint sensor is embedded. It is likely that an OLED surface will be placed. RAM capability will possibly range between 4GB to 6GB with 128GB to 256GB memory storage.

Based on the full HD screens installed in previous Xiaomi items, the immediate jump to Ultra HD, as initially leaked, is quite questionable. Considering that the mobile industry is trending on VR components, the adjustment will most probably be focused on instituting the Quad-HD display.

The approach fits into the VR procedure and besides, integrating the quad element will still provide a full HD picture. Meanwhile, the 16-core approach is just out of line. As of late, the availability of two highly-functional processors does not support the specification involved.

Samsung and Qualcomm have unveiled the octa-core Snapdragon 835. Incorporating the hardware with a deca-core Helio X30 set does not match the perceived 16-chip outlook. Be it known that this 10nm Snapdragon processor enhances functionality by 30 percent in terms of efficiency, 27 percent with regard to performance and 40 percent in terms of sustainability.

Considering that the mobile industry is leaning towards a dual-curved edge frame, it is possible that the Xiaomi Mi6 will assume the said structure. With a highly-efficient Snapdragon processor in place, it is likely that the unit will need the Quick Charge 4.0 component which can actually support five hours of power resulting from a five-minute loading.

Xiaomi Mi 6 Leaks Reveal Flat LCD and Curved OLED Variants

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi 6 Leaks Reveal Flat LCD and Curved OLED Variants : Xiaomi Mi 6, the successor to the 2016 flagship Mi 5 is rumored to be launching early next month. A new set of leaks from a Chinese website offers details on features and specifications of the handset.

Xiaomi will reportedly release two Mi 6 display variants, a regular Mi 6 and Mi 6 Pro model. The Xiaomi Mi 6 will arrive with a flat LCD display, while the Xiaomi Mi 6 Pro will feature a curved OLED screen similar to Samsung’s Galaxy S7 Edge. Another report from Gizmo China confirmed the same, adding Mi 6 has entered mass production and two handsets with regular and curved displays will launch.

Apart from the screen, both the devices will differ in terms of the RAM and internal storage. The standard Mi 6 variant will feature 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. The Pro model will pack a massive 6GB RAM with a 256GB of internal memory.

In addition, the Chinese report claims the Mi 6 will pack a physical home button embedded with a fingerprint sensor. Another one of the highlights of Mi 6 series is the dual rear camera setup. Details regarding the camera, however, are unclear at this point. Earlier reports hinted a 16-megapixel rear camera with 4K video recording, OIS, dual-tone LED flash and 4-megapixel selfie camera.

Previous reports have tipped Xiaomi Mi 6 will pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip. Built with 10nm fabrication process by Samsung, the chipset is capable of delivering up to 27 percent higher performance and 40 percent less power than the Snapdragon 821. It will also pack Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4.0 technology for fast charging support.

Several reports have indicated Xiaomi Mi 6 may arrive with three different chipsets. The devices are as Mi 6S, Mi 6E, and Mi 6P. While the S hints Snapdragon, E stands for Helio or Exynos chipset and P is speculated to stand for company’s Pinecone chipset.

The handset will pack a 4,000 mAh battery and feature USB Type-C support for connectivity. On the software front, the Xiaomi Mi 6 is will run MIUI OS atop Android 7.0 Nougat. The device may also come with AI digital assistant as it has become a norm across newly launched devices.

Xiaomi hasn’t declared an official release for its highly anticipated device. This hasn’t prevented tech enthusiasts from speculating the launch date. While a Mobile World Congress unveiling remains quite likely, several reports indicate release as soon as Valentine’s day or even before that.

Xiaomi rumoured to launch Mi 6 in curved and flat display variants

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi rumoured to launch Mi 6 in curved and flat display variants : While Samsung said to go all-curved on its flagships, a new leak suggests Xaiomi will adopt its galaxy S7 success strategy with its next top end phone. Rumour has it that the Chinese smartphone maker will be launching Mi 6 in two variants — one with a usual flat display and another with a curved one. Both of them will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset that was officially launched this month at CES and is being manufactured by Samsung.

Xiaomi Mi 6 is said to launch next month, ahead of 2017 flagships from Samsung and LG. Citing sources, Androidheadlines says that the flat display model will be priced at 1,999 CNY that roughly translates to Rs 19,700, while the curved display variant will cost around 2,499 CNY, which is about Rs 24,700 according to current exchange rates.

It also claims none of the two variants will have dual camera, something that has become a staple with flagships.  The difference among the two models, apart from the display is that of the memory capacity. The cheaper variant will have 4GB RAM and the curved screen model will come with 6GB RAM.

As the previous leaks suggest, Mi6 will sport a design similar to the Mi Note 2. While the Mi Note 2 carries a 5.7-inch display, we expect the Mi 6 to come with a smaller screen size, around 5.15-inch. It will also have a physical home buttons below the display, housing the fingerprint sensor.

The phone will run Android Nougat 7.0 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 on top. Although it was said the phone may launch on February 6, or around the Valentine’s Day (which makes no sense), fresh rumours also suggest it may rather prefer the MWC stage.

Xiaomi Mi6 Shatters Benchmarking Scores – Magic of the Snapdragon 835 Perhaps

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi6 Shatters Benchmarking Scores – Magic of the Snapdragon 835 Perhaps : Xiaomi had a great run in 2016, and with products such as the Mi Mix and Mi Note 2 (which to remind you is also available in the global LTE variant), the manufacturer is poised to release a flagship that’s going to sport the aesthetic qualities of both devices while outperforming both of them thanks to powerful internals.

That smartphone is expected to get named Mi6 and it appears that the alleged benchmarking scores of the gadget have been leaked so let us see what new records the device has managed to achieved.

Xiaomi Mi6 Allegedly Scores Over 200,000 Points in AnTuTu’s Benchmarking Test

The score that you are able to see in the image (via MyDrivers) represents the level of performance expected from the upcoming Xiaomi Mi6. Scoring above the 200,000-point mark means at least a Snapdragon 835 and 6GB of RAM must be present. Around three months ago, an unnamed device managed to shatter the AnTuTu scores, which gives rise to the thought that perhaps those scores belong to this ‘soon to be announced’ flagship. However, the scores that you see in front of you are much higher that what the unnamed device managed to garner, which is expected from a benchmarking tool like AnTuTu.

In contrast, the iPhone 7 Plus, which is outfitted with 3GB of RAM and Apple’s A10 Fusion SoC managed to score around 180,000 points, and we already know that the smartphone bulldozes the competition in raw synthetic benchmarking programs, thus showing that indeed have a powerhouse phone on our hands that will be announced later in 2017. Xiaomi Mi6 is rumored to feature a dual-curved edge display coupled with a very higher screen-to-body ratio. It’s not confirmed if the smartphone is going to sport nearly zero bezels like the Mi Mix, but we’ll keep you updated on that front.

Xiaomi Mi 6 rumors: Scores 210,000+ on AnTuTu; Arriving with $370 pricing?

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi 6 rumors: Scores 210,000+ on AnTuTu; Arriving with $370 pricing? : The Xiaomi Mi 6 is now rumored to deliver monstrous performance as it reportedly scored 210,329 on AnTuTu. In addition to this, speculations indicate it will be a pricey device.

Samsung Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi 6 and several other flagships from 2017 are expected to powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset. The Xiaomi Mi 6 is rumored to get unveiled next month through the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 event. The arrival of the Mi 6 seems to be drawing near as it has been allegedly spotted on AnTuTu benchmarking platform.

Even though the benchmarking information has not surfaced from AnTuTu directly, a leaked screenshot of the benchmarking app suggests that the smartphone has allegedly scored 201,329 points, My Drivers reported.  Such a high powerful score can be only attained if a monstrous processor like Snapdragon 835 under its hood.

The Apple iPhone 7 Plus running on Apple A10 chipset managed to breach 180K mark by scoring 180,300 points. The Snapdragon 821 chipset driven OnePlus 3T has scored 163,000 points on AnTuTu, However, the Xiaomi Mi 6 has allegedly breached 200K mark quite easily with SD 835 chip on board.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset was officially announced earlier this week. The octa-core processor is expected to deliver 27 percent improvement in terms of performance and nearly 40 percent lesser power usage as compared to Snapdragon 821 and 820 chipsets that drive 2016 flagship.

Rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be coming out with a costlier price tag. The reason behind it is the high cost of the internal components of Mi 6. Not only Xiaomi Mi 6’s upcoming flagship but also other electronic devices in China are expected to cost more because of the high cost of materials.

Xiaomi’s usually costs around 1999 Yuan ($299) for the base model. However, rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi 6 may cost as high as 2,499 Yuan ($370) for its base model.

Rumors have it that Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first smartphone to launch with Snapdragon 835 chipset onboard. Rumors have it that it will feature dual-edge curved, a dual camera setup, and Android based MIUI 9 OS, Gizmo China reported.

Xiaomi Mi 6 to beat Galaxy S8, LG G6, HTC 11 by releasing earlier with Snapdragon 835

#XiaomiMi6 #GalaxyS8 – Xiaomi Mi 6 to beat Galaxy S8, LG G6, HTC 11 by releasing earlier with Snapdragon 835 : Rumors have it that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Snapdragon 835 powered Chinese smartphone to release in the market.

The upcoming flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S8, LG G6 and HTC 11 are all pegged to come loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. In the recent past, there have been rumors that Asus will be unleashing a Snapdragon 835 chipset smartphone at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2017.

When it comes to Chinese brands, none of the major Chinese smartphone companies are expected to launch a SD 835 smartphone soon. However, an industry insider from China has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 6 will be the first Chinese smartphone to come powered with SD 835 SoC, Gizmo China reported.

Samsung is the manufacturing partner for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC. Well-known Chinese leakster has said that the production of the next generation is slow and this has prompted many of the smartphone companies to push the release of their flagship phones to a later date.

Samsung is rumored to have pushed the Galaxy S8 release date to April. However, the leakster has claimed that Xiaomi is facing no problem in receiving the stock of the SD 835. Hence, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is slated for an announcement at the MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2017 event.

The rumor mill has not revealed many details on the specifications of Xiaomi Mi 6. Leaked photos of an unknown Xiaomi device that is dubbed as Mi 6 hints that the smartphone would be looking like a smaller edition of Xiaomi Mi Note 2.

Even though leaked photos do not show dual-lens rear camera and dual-edge curved display, early Xiaomi Mi 6 rumors have hinted that these features would be arriving on the flagship.

Xiaomi had launched the Mi Mix concept smartphone in December in black color. Since it has teased that it will be launching a product at CES 2017, speculations are rife that the Xiaomi Mi Mix will be unveiled to the world in white color. The Mi Mix is also rumored to be the first smartphone to come loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat enabled MIUI, GSM Arena reported.
