Xiaomi Mi MIX Running Android 7.0 Nougat Spotted in Benchmarks; Update Likely to Start Soon

#XiaomiMiMIX #Android7 – Xiaomi Mi MIX Running Android 7.0 Nougat Spotted in Benchmarks; Update Likely to Start Soon : Xiaomi Mi MIX, a concept smartphone that’s being sold in limited quantities in China, is likely to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update soon.

The Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted running the Android 7.0 Nougat update on a benchmark site. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Android Nougat isn’t exactly a surprise as the Chinese company released an MIUI ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat for its beta testers in December. The smartphone spotted at the Geekbench Browser benchmark is likely a test unit being tested ahead of the complete rollout. The benchmark was first spotted by GSMArena.

Xiaomi has already confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the Mi MIX smartphone won’t be coming to the Indian market.

Making its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2017, Xiaomi announced a new Mi MIX variant in White colour option.

To refresh, the Xiaomi Mi MIX was unveiled as a limited edition concept smartphone, made in collaboration with French designer Philippe Stark, in October last year. The Xiaomi handset was launched in two variants – 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 34,500), and 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 39,500).

Xiaomi Mi MIX’s key feature is its near bezel-less display with curved edges on top, and 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Xiaomi smartphone bears a ceramic body. Another highlight of the smartphone is the piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker, as well as the ultrasonic proximity sensor rather than the traditional front-facing infrared sensor.

Some of the specifications of the Mi MIX include a 6.4-inch display which bears a 17:9 aspect, with a 1080×2040 pixels resolution, a pixel density of 362ppi, and a 94-percent NTSC colour gamut. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The Xiaomi concept smartphone sports 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. It bears a 5-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi tipped to be working on a Snapdragon 835-powered Mix Evo

#Xiaomi #MiMix – Xiaomi tipped to be working on a Snapdragon 835-powered Mix Evo : The Mi Mix, from Xiaomi, is a concept phone that’s for real. The USP of the Mi Mix is an almost bezel-less screen that allows the phone to achieve an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 91.3 per cent. The phone was originally launched in black, and was soon followed by a white variant. Both the versions, however, came with the exact same spec-sheet. A more powerful version of the Mix may be in the works now; if a new Geekbench listing is to be gone by.

According to the listing, the Mix Evo is a top-tier phone that’s rocking a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor clubbed with 4 gigs of RAM under the hood. The phone in question is said to be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with Xiaomi’s custom MIUI skin on top.

Little is known about the Mix Evo for now, apart from what the Geekbench listing gives out. There is no hint from camp Xiaomi regarding the same as well. The Evo could well be the next-generation Mix, for all we know.

Designed and jointly developed by renowned designer Philippe Starck, the Mi Mix boasts of a full ceramic body and an almost perfect edge-to-edge to be precise. The phone does not have a forehead, just the bottom. It is mostly flat like a pancake and the display — a 6.4-inch IPS LCD — is curved around the corners of the top.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal memory. The phone is backed by a 4,400mAh battery and has a 16-megapixel rear camera.

Xiaomi is meanwhile, gearing up to launch the Redmi Note 4 in India on January 19. The Redmi Note 4 will be a Flipkart-exclusive in India and will most likely be powered by a Qualcomm-based processor since Xiaomi isn’t permitted to sell MediaTek-based phones in the country.

Xiaomi Mi Mix vs iPhone 8: Will it be a mixture of emotions for Apple or a complete iSuccess?

#XiaomiMiMix #iPhone8 – Xiaomi Mi Mix vs iPhone 8: Will it be a mixture of emotions for Apple or a complete iSuccess? : While there’s plenty of time for Cupertino’s Apple inc. to come out with their next generation of iPhones, ongoing debates compare present high-end Android smartphones whether they’re at the apex to combat iPhones head to head.

Xiaomi’s latest flagship the Mi Mix, their latest release into the markets was introduced with a new color choice at the Consumer Electronics Show(CES) this week, GSMArena reported. Apple this year, will be celebrating their tenth year anniversary of their ‘iPhone’ line-up of Apple products which ultimately has to be the primary reason to bring out the best out of iPhones yet.

With Xiaomi’s fantastic track record throughout the years, let’s get into to taking a look at the both the phones that’s certainly going to dominate the sales graph for the present year. While the specifications for the phone hasn’t changed except for its color scheme, the beautiful bezel-less display is one of the primary reasons to opt for the phone that comes with a 17:9 resolution.

However, Xiaomi at the moment haven’t announced plans for releasing the Mi Mix in white for International markets currently restricting it to China at the moment at least, according to this report on Yahoo tech. Hence, for those who’re looking for the classy-white looks might have to wait a bit longer than expected.

Even if the iPhone 8 isn’t out yet, the specifications for the phone can certainly be predicted at least in terms of its processing power and other features, with a new probable A11 chip also arriving with an IP67 rating that will be both dust and water resistant. While Apple for sometime have stuck to LCD displays, things might change for the new iPhone with possibly an AMOLED panel replacing it while the lightning connector to be replaced by USB Type-C reversible connector.

While the Mi Mix is a bezel less display top to bottom, it’s definitely challenging to hold it in a single palm. But that shouldn’t distract the buyer due to its amazing color production and industry standard hardware.

Coming soon 6.4-inch Xiaomi Mi MIX for $520, Behold the stunning

#Smartphone #XIaomi – Coming soon  6.4-inch Xiaomi Mi MIX for $520, Behold the stunning : Xiaomi took to the stage today to unveil the new Mi Note 2, a semi-affordable phablet packed with some of the best specs and an attractive design. However, the company wasn’t done just yet and surprised everyone by announcing another impressive-looking device, the Xiaomi Mi MIX.

The Mi MIX is a bezel-less concept device, coming with a 6.4-inch screen, inside of a black ceramic body, with an 18K gold trim in some versions. The phone was designed by famed artist Philippe Starck, known for his minimalist, modern approaches.

What’s really interesting is that this isn’t just a render or a concept, the phone is actually in development right now. And the MIX is not just about looks, it’s also about the technology that made that full-screen experience possible. And don’t worry, they somehow managed to keep the 3.5mm headphone jack in too.

For example, you might notice there aren’t any speaker holes or groves on the device’s screen. That’s because Xiaomi replaced the regular with a piezoelectric speaker than can transmit sound to someone’s ear by vibrating behind the screen. The proximity sensor was replaced with an ultrasonic emitter, which bounces sound waves off of someone’s face to detect when the phone is being used. Finally, the front-facing camera has …been moved to the navigation bar. A bit of disappointment on that last one, but you can’t have a camera without line-of-sight and photons.

Xiaomi claims it has been working for three years on the design of the Mi MIX and the innovation that’s powering it. Of course, the device will also come with some of the latest specs, including:

  • 6.4-inch LCD screen, with 1080 x 2040 resolution
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor,
  • 4GB/6GB RAM
  • 128GB/256GB non-expandable storage
  • 16-megapixel, f/2.0 primary camera
  • 5-megapixel secondary camera
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • 4,400 mAh battery, Quick Charge 3.0 support
  • Type-C 1.0 reversible USB

The starting price for the Xiaomi Mi MIX is around the $520 mark for the 4GB RAM/128GB storage model, with the top of the line model, including the gold trim, going for around $600. There’s no launch date attached but the device is expected to see the light of day as soon as next month. Source neowin
