Xiaomi Mi Note 2 News: Chinese Phone Has Same Design As Samsung Galaxy Note 7

#XiaomiMiNote2 #GalaxyNote7 – Xiaomi Mi Note 2 News: Chinese Phone Has Same Design As Samsung Galaxy Note 7 : Since Samsung discontinued the Galaxy Note 7 over the exploding battery issue, the Xiaomi Mi Note is no longer a smartphone clone which Chinese phone makers have been accused of. With the demise of the Galaxy Note 7, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 became a ‘worthy alternative.”

Although the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has the same design as the Galaxy Note 7, it is not as refined as the controversial Samsung phone. Android Authority notes the thicker bezel on the sides of the made-in-China smartphone.

The thicker bezel made the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 wider and provided a clearer and sharper distinction in the way the metal and glass meet on the sides. But beyond that difference, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also has a curved glass on the back and side which it calls 3D glass. The chassis is a metal frame.

However, unlike the Galaxy Note 7, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 lacks the S-pen stylus. Instead at the bottom of the smartphone is a USB Type –C port with a single speaker unit and microphone beside it. On top of the smartphone is a headphone and an IR blaster to control the TV and other appliances.

Other features of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 include a 5.7-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels, a 22.5MP back camera and run by a Snapdragon 821 SoC chip. Its Android user interface is the MIUI 8.0, the newest version of Xiaomi’s interface, Slash & Gear reports.

Users must be familiar with Chinese character to work their way with some of the apps of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. But its international edition has Google Play, allowing phone owners to comfortably install and run all the same apps on other Android smartphones.

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMiNote2 – Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Will Now Be Available In New Color : Of every single mobile device that Chinese giant Xiaomi has released, the Mi Note 2 has been probably the greatest, given the fact that this is a flagship phablet that offers incredible specs and features with a really attractive price. Fortunately for the brand´s lovers, a Blue Coral color variant is now available.

The Mi Note 2 Will Have 4 New Colors

According to GSMARENA, this new color was discovered thanks to a number of images published on Chinese social media network Weibo, in which it´s shown Xiaomi´s CEO Lei Jun holding the Mi Note 2 in the Blue Coral color. Naturally, this move represents a huge bet from Xiaomi to increase the device´s popularity, considering that it sales were has been so great that offering it in different colors would be quite lucrative.

Although the Mi Note 2 was only available in Black, Gold and Silver color, the company has unveiled another four, which promises to increase popularity among the users. These colors are Green, Purple, Pink and the Blue Coral, which would make this mobile device even greater in China, considering that it will offer more color variants than the majority of the most famous Chinese smartphones.

The Galaxy S7 Also Had The Blue Coral Color

As reported by Android Headlines, what seems quite curious about the Blue Coral variant of the flagship Mi Note 2, is the fact that this is exactly similar to the Coral Blue released by the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge last year, which also gained a huge popularity in a moment in which the company was facing the huge damage that the Note 7 recall left.

Although the new color options for the Mi Note 2 represent a great news for the company, there´s no information about when these new colors will go on sale. Nevertheless, is expected that it would be released in a few weeks, and have the same price as the three original variants of the flagship phablet.

Google Pixel XL vs. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 – Make Your Dreams True

#PixelXL #MiNote2 – Google Pixel XL vs. Xiaomi Mi Note 2 – Make Your Dreams True : The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 which looks exactly like a Galaxy Note 7 and the Pixel XL made up of flat glass and a metal back are in competition with each other. We are here to compare them and see which one is the best in terms of price and specs.

Almost forgetting the Nexus series, Google stepped up their game with the new Pixel series which has the Google Pixel XL as its flagship. The device comes equipped with a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen with QHD resolution and a pixel density of 531 ppi. From start to finish it is built on Google principles and ideas.

Hardware-wise, it sports a powerful Snapdragon 821 SoC with 4GB of RAM. Storage options are not so varied but we figure that the two options are enough, namely 32GB and 128GB. The whole device is powered by a 3450mAh. The camera was not neglected as it has 12.3MP and an f/2.0 aperture with dual LED flash.

Google Pixel XL is water and dust resistant, being compact measuring 154.7 mm and has a thickness of 8.6mm. The basic version with 32 GB of storage comes at $769 and the 128 GB one is valued at $869.

As for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, you get a top notch camera sporting 22.5 MP with dual-tone LED flash and an 8MP front with support for autofocus. The battery is what sets it miles ahead from its competitors sporting a whopping 4070mAh battery that supports fast charging.

Unlike the Google Pixel XL’s water and dust resistance the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has basically none.  The phone pairs well with all US carriers and despite its size and overwhelmingly large battery the Xiaomi is lighter and thinner than the Pixel.

The device comes equipped with Android Marshmallow but users are to expect an update to the Nougat 7.0. Regarding price, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 costs $515.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 With Flat Display Won’t Be Released

#Xiaomi #MiNote2 – Xiaomi Mi Note 2 With Flat Display Won’t Be Released : Xiaomi has launched some very impressive smartphones this year including but not limited to the Mi Note 2. It’s a flagship in its own right and one of its biggest selling points is the dual edge curved display similar to the one you find on the Galaxy S7 Edge. It was rumored at one point that Xiaomi might launch a variant of the Mi Note 2 with a flat display but the company has now confirmed that this isn’t going to happen.

The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 features a Snapdragon 821 processor with up to 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It also features a 22.5 megapixel rear camera. The main attraction is its 5.7 inch full HD AMOLED dual edge curved display.

Soon after this handset was confirmed, it was rumored that a flat display variant was in the pipeline. The handset was also spotted on TENAA which is China’s version of the FCC. That might have been enough for many to think that it was just around the corner but that’s not the case.

Xiaomi’s marketing director Zang Zhiyuan has confirmed via the company’s official blog that there’s not going to be a flat display variant of the Mi Note 2. Fans of the company who were holding out for it will now have to make their peace with the Mi Note 2 that Xiaomi is currently selling. Source : Ubergizmo

Xiaomi's Mi Note 2 looks just like a Samsung Note 7 (hands-on)

#Xiaomi #SamsungNote7 – Xiaomi’s Mi Note 2 looks just like a Samsung Note 7 (hands-on) : Xiaomi has a new phone for those who are looking for a replacement for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. Sporting a design that, like the Note 7, is curved on both front and back, the new 5.7-inch Mi Note 2 also offers a 23-megapixel camera, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. Xiaomi has been pushing its Mi Pay mobile payment system lately, so the Mi Note 2 will come with NFC.

It’s set to launch on November 1 China for 3,299 yuan (approximately $485, £400 or AU$640). A cheaper model, with 4GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage, will retail for 2,799 yuan (roughly $410, £340 or AU$540). There’s also a special model with support for 37 different 4G LTE bands — so it’ll work in pretty much any country — that goes for 3,499 yuan ($515, £420 or AU$675).

The phablet is similar to the Mi 5S Plus, which launched last month. Both phones have a 5.7-inch full-HD display and are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, though the Mi Note 2’s display uses OLED technology to curve the screen on the front. It has the curved back of the first Mi Note too.

Powered by Android, the Mi Note 2 runs Xiaomi’s custom MIUI 8 skin. Like most skins out of China, it lacks an app drawer, but has some nifty features. You can turn on the flash light by holding the home button without unlocking the phone, for instance, and you can use a second finger to swipe through home screens while holding down on an app to move it.

I’m pretty impressed with just how light the phone feels. The Galaxy Note 7 seemed a little heftier, which made for a better grip one-handed, but the lightness of the Note 2 somehow feels just right. Be warned though, the curved glass back is a fingerprint magnet. I had to wipe down the phone a few times while taking pictures.

Key specs

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, 2.35GHz
  • 6GB RAM, 128GB onboard storage
  • 4,070 mAh battery with Quick Charge
  • 23-megapixel rear camera
  • Comes in black and silver

The fingerprint smudges aren’t as bad on the silver version, which is definitely the better looking sibling. And while Apple has chosen to do away with the headphone jack, the Mi Note 2 still has one, as well as an infrared sensor — great if you like to use your phone as a remote control for your TV or aircon.

While there’s a version of the Mi Note 2 that will have LTE support for the US and lots of other countries, the bad news is that the phone will be China-only, and Xiaomi has no plans to sell this elsewhere, even in places like Singapore or Hong Kong. It’s a surprising move, but perhaps Xiaomi is looking inwards to its homeground as it aims to regain market share, having slipped to fourth position as rivals Oppo and Vivo have surged ahead. source : cnet

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Full specification

#Xiaomi #MiNote2 – Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Full specification : There are been many contrasting rumours about the Mi Note 2. Some claim that the smartphone will sport dual edge display and a dual camera setup, while the others claim only one of them will make it to the smartphone. In any case, Xiaomi has scheduled an event on October 25 where all the official details of the Mi Note successor will be out of the bag once and for all. But before that happens, presentation slides claimed to be for the upcoming event have been leaked on Weibo, revealing all specifications and pricing details of the Mi Note 2.

This leak, first spotted by PhoneArena, leaves very little to the imagination. The slides reveal that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will feature a 5.7-inch Super Amoled (1440×2560 pixels) display with Force Touch technology. For those unaware, Force Touch (or rather, 3D Touch) was first introduced by Apple on the iPhone 6s, and is a pressure sensitive display technology that Apple uses to provide additional interface options to users. The smartphone is listed as powered by a 64-bit Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 530GPU. The smartphone is expected to come in two bundles – 4GB of RAM/ 64GB of storage, and 6GB of RAM/ 128GB of storage.

This leak claims that a dual camera setup is indeed going to be introduced, and the Mi Note 2 will sport two sensors at the back. The first one will be a 23-megapixel Sony IMX318 sensor, and the other one will be a 12-megapixel Sony IMX378 sensor. It will feature a dual-tone LED Flash, support OIS, and 4K video recording. The front camera is said to sport an 8-megapixel sensor.

It packs a huge 4100mAh battery and is backed by the Quick Charge fast charging technology. The Mi Note 2 will support Mi Pay i.e will be NFC-enabled. There’s an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner integrated under the display, though we wonder if it’s instead under glass but not under the display panel itself, as seen in the Mi 5s. According to the slides, an iris scanner has also been introduced at the front. Apart from NFC, other connectivity options include 4G VoLTE , Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4/5 GHz) MU-MIMO, GPS, and USB Type-C port. The Mi Note 2 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8, and supports dual-SIM slots (Nano + Nano).
