Xiaomi Mi 6 visits AnTuTu, scores 170,000

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi 6 visits AnTuTu, scores 170,000 : Xiaomi may take the wraps off its next flagship smartphone as soon as tomorrow. We told you about this development a few hours ago, and it would certainly be an odd introduction if it pans out, because the outing of a new product tomorrow was only confirmed by company execs today. Usually invites for such events are sent out at least a few days in advance.

Anyway, the Mi 6 is continuing to hit various benchmarks in the meantime. We’ve seen it in the GFXBench database last week, and today it’s been spotted at AnTuTu. The prototype that got put through the paces of the benchmark managed to score around 170,000 points, which is certainly a big improvement over the 131,000 that the Mi 5s was able to achieve.

That’s in no small part to do with the fact that the Mi 6 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, like the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Sony Xperia XZ Premium. AnTuTu’s information listing for the Xiaomi handset calls it by its codename Sagit, which is in fact the same moniker we’ve seen at GFXBench. That SoC it has makes us certain it’s the Mi 6 in disguise.

As you can see from the image above, AnTuTu confirms that at least one model of the Mi 6 will arrive with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, a 12 MP main camera, and an 8 MP selfie shooter. It has a 1080p touchscreen and runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat underneath the latest version of MIUI.

All of these details have previously been outed by GFXBench, so you can pretty much bet on them being the final specs for the Mi 6 – especially if we’re mere hours away from its unveiling. That said, this version with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage is likely to be the entry-level option. We should see some more variants with more memory and storage, which will command a price premium as you’d expect.

The Xiaomi Mi 6 will most likely be unveiled tomorrow

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – The Xiaomi Mi 6 will most likely be unveiled tomorrow : As a result of its devices’ relatively good specs and competitive prices, Xiaomi is one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in China, though the brand has been growing in popularity outside the country as well. We’ve been hearing rumors of its newest flagship, the Mi 6, for quite some time now, but a recent string of posts on Xiaomi’s official page on Chinese social networking site Weibo suggests the device will be unveiled tomorrow, April 11.

Starting April 6, Xiaomi has been publishing daily posts dedicated to each of its Mi flagships on its Weibo page, and today it has posted the last of them, the one for the Mi 5. While this isn’t an outright confirmation that the Mi 6 will be announced tomorrow, the timing is weirdly coincidental with a press conference that will be held tomorrow. Moreover, Xiaomi has apparently sent a WeChat message to its fans saying they should expect something tomorrow at noon, further confirming there is a big reveal coming up.

While it may not be as leaky as the Samsung Galaxy S8, we still know quite a lot about the Mi 6. Its processor will most likely be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, though we have also heard rumors of a 821 version as well. The rear camera of the device is said to be a 12 MP dual-camera module with Sony’s IMX 386 sensor, while the front will be a regular 8 MP shooter with IMX 268. There will also apparently be two options memory-wise: a 4GB RAM + 64GB internal memory one, and another with a 6 GB + 128 GB combo.

The screen is said to sport a 5.2-inch panel, though there’s also apparently two versions of that as well: one will have a Quad HD resolution, while the other will top at Full HD instead. It’s not entirely clear whether there will be just two versions of the device, or if Xiaomi will be playing mix-and-match with the specs, but we surely won’t have to wait for long to see. The phone is said to also run Android 7.1.1 and will reportedly be IP68-certified.

The press conference is set for noon Hong Kong time on April 11, which translates to midnight Eastern Time. We’ll make sure to keep you updated if the Mi 6 really does get unveiled tomorrow, though we’re almost certain it will.

Xiaomi Mi MIX Running Android 7.0 Nougat Spotted in Benchmarks; Update Likely to Start Soon

#XiaomiMiMIX #Android7 – Xiaomi Mi MIX Running Android 7.0 Nougat Spotted in Benchmarks; Update Likely to Start Soon : Xiaomi Mi MIX, a concept smartphone that’s being sold in limited quantities in China, is likely to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update soon.

The Xiaomi smartphone has been spotted running the Android 7.0 Nougat update on a benchmark site. The Xiaomi Mi MIX Android Nougat isn’t exactly a surprise as the Chinese company released an MIUI ROM based on Android 7.0 Nougat for its beta testers in December. The smartphone spotted at the Geekbench Browser benchmark is likely a test unit being tested ahead of the complete rollout. The benchmark was first spotted by GSMArena.

Xiaomi has already confirmed to Gadgets 360 that the Mi MIX smartphone won’t be coming to the Indian market.

Making its debut at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2017, Xiaomi announced a new Mi MIX variant in White colour option.

To refresh, the Xiaomi Mi MIX was unveiled as a limited edition concept smartphone, made in collaboration with French designer Philippe Stark, in October last year. The Xiaomi handset was launched in two variants – 4GB RAM/ 128GB storage priced at CNY 3,499 (roughly Rs. 34,500), and 6GB RAM/ 256GB storage priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 39,500).

Xiaomi Mi MIX’s key feature is its near bezel-less display with curved edges on top, and 91.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The Xiaomi smartphone bears a ceramic body. Another highlight of the smartphone is the piezoelectric acoustic ceramic earpiece speaker, as well as the ultrasonic proximity sensor rather than the traditional front-facing infrared sensor.

Some of the specifications of the Mi MIX include a 6.4-inch display which bears a 17:9 aspect, with a 1080×2040 pixels resolution, a pixel density of 362ppi, and a 94-percent NTSC colour gamut. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The Xiaomi concept smartphone sports 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. It bears a 5-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 News: Chinese Phone Has Same Design As Samsung Galaxy Note 7

#XiaomiMiNote2 #GalaxyNote7 – Xiaomi Mi Note 2 News: Chinese Phone Has Same Design As Samsung Galaxy Note 7 : Since Samsung discontinued the Galaxy Note 7 over the exploding battery issue, the Xiaomi Mi Note is no longer a smartphone clone which Chinese phone makers have been accused of. With the demise of the Galaxy Note 7, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 became a ‘worthy alternative.”

Although the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 has the same design as the Galaxy Note 7, it is not as refined as the controversial Samsung phone. Android Authority notes the thicker bezel on the sides of the made-in-China smartphone.

The thicker bezel made the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 wider and provided a clearer and sharper distinction in the way the metal and glass meet on the sides. But beyond that difference, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 also has a curved glass on the back and side which it calls 3D glass. The chassis is a metal frame.

However, unlike the Galaxy Note 7, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 lacks the S-pen stylus. Instead at the bottom of the smartphone is a USB Type –C port with a single speaker unit and microphone beside it. On top of the smartphone is a headphone and an IR blaster to control the TV and other appliances.

Other features of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 include a 5.7-inch screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels, a 22.5MP back camera and run by a Snapdragon 821 SoC chip. Its Android user interface is the MIUI 8.0, the newest version of Xiaomi’s interface, Slash & Gear reports.

Users must be familiar with Chinese character to work their way with some of the apps of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. But its international edition has Google Play, allowing phone owners to comfortably install and run all the same apps on other Android smartphones.

New Leaks Suggest Xiaomi Mi 5c Will Be Equipped With Snapragon 625 Processor

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi5c – New Leaks Suggest Xiaomi Mi 5c Will Be Equipped With Snapragon 625 Processor : The Xiaomi Mi 5c is one of those mobile devices which customers don´t know what to expect, given the fact that every single time this Chinese company put the “c” name on its smartphones it means that these handsets would be a cheaper version of the “s” model, which in this case it would be the MI 5s. In fact, this new mobile device has become one of the biggest mysteries in China, given the fact that there hasn’t too much regarding its specs features, making everyone believes that the possibilities of the Mi 5c to see the light were really short.

The Xiaomi 5c Will Sport A Flagship´s Processor

Nevertheless, the Xiaomi mobile device´s 3C certification in China was just spotted, and what it shows is something that customers would definitely love. Apparently, the Mi 5c will be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which represents something out of this world considering that this kind of chipsets are the one that many of the greatest flagships will use this year.

Naturally, this means that customers in China will be able to get a mobile device boosted with this kind of processor in a really cheap price, which would make some foreign brands to have a really hard time to make a hit in the Chinese market. Of course, this incredible move from Xiaomi with the Mi 5c is the clearest exemplification of the way in which the Chinese smartphones are becoming major players in the smartphone business since these products offer the greatest specs and features at the most affordable price.

The Xiaomi Mi 5c Will Have A Great Design And Could Sport An Outstanding Battery

What´s also incredible about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5c is that this mobile device is that there some possibilities that it could wear a 3,200 Ah battery, which just as the Snapdragon 625 processor, it represents something outstanding for a handset that far from being a flagship, is just a cheaper version of the Mi 5s, which also had this battery. If you take a look to some of the new flagships that will compete in this year´s market, just a few has a better battery than this one.

Also, the Xiaomi 5c will sport a 12MP rear-facing camera, while the front-facing camera boasts 8MP, which is quite perfect for taking selfies, although we might have to wait which sensor the company uses in order to know who would be the quality of the images. Of course, this mobile device will be characterized for wearing a metal back as the Mi 5s, but without the brushed finish, which makes it so attractive that it wouldn’t be a surprise to some customers believes that this is a Xiaomi´s flagship.

Although it remains unknown when the Xiaomi Mi 5c will be released, is expected to come before the Chinese company release the Mi 6, which is going to be its flagship in a year where Xiaomi must make an incredible effort in order to maintain its position in the Chinese market, given the fact that this brand won’t take the global leap yet. Of course, this means that the Mi 5c might see the light at the Mobile World Congress this month.

Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Sport Material That Will Make It Extremely Scratch Resistant

#Xiaomi #XiaomiMi6 – Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Sport Material That Will Make It Extremely Scratch Resistant : You might have heard the rumor that Xiaomi isn’t going to be appearing at this year’s MWC trade show. However just like Samsung, the manufacturer has a flagship planned for 2017 and it is expected that the device is going to sport a material that will make it extremely scratch resistant. While that is great to hear, there are going to be some trade-offs due to that, and you will soon find out.

Xiaomi Mi6 Rumored to Come With a Ceramic Body Just Like Mi Mix – Will Become Near-Impervious to Scratches

One rumor coming out of China (via MyDrivers) suggests that the upcoming flagship is going to sport a ceramic body just like the Mi Mix. This could also mean that the Mi6 could ship out with a small number of bezels, but we’ll wait for confirmation to come through before we give our own verdict. Coming to the material of the Xiaomi Mi6, the ceramic used on the Mi Mix made it extremely scratch resistant. In fact, in several scratch tests, the smartphone’s body held up far better compared to the competition which in other words mean that car keys and coins will inflict absolutely no damage to its exterior.

However, it presents one problem as far as the ceramic body goes. The more scratch resistant something becomes, the more brittle it will become and even a small drop will result in the ceramic body cracking. There were drop tests carried out on the Mi Mix and it didn’t take much of an effort to damage the beautifully crafted handset. If the rumor turns out to be true, Xiaomi will no doubt attempt to market the beautiful ceramic body of the flagship, but it will also recommend customers to put on a high-quality case to prevent irreparable damage to the smartphone.

Ideally, a transparent high-quality case will allow you to show off the aesthetic quality of the smartphone, and its specifications are also expected to be high-end. We’ll continue to provide you with detailed stories like this, but take this rumor with a pinch of salt for now.
